Primary Responsibilities:
Perform assigned work in a self-directed mannerPrepare and analyze general ledger account reconciliations, including intercompany accountsPrepare and analyze sub-ledger vs main GL ledger reconciliation and investigate open items etc.Identify and analyze clinical cash reconciliation and report unusual transactions Perform monthly quality assurance review of select operations/accounting documents for internal control compliancePerform ad hoc reporting and analysisResolve reconciling items in a timely mannerComplete special projects as assigned by supervisorShould be able to process invoices and patients refundComply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do soRequired Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent5+ minimum years of professional accounting experienceHands-on experience performing the following: Correctly applying US GAAP and company practices to assigned workRunning queries in a general ledger systemResponding to internal and external auditor requestsProposing solutions to noted problemsDocumenting methodology, analysis and conclusions Internal control compliance experienceExperience with PeopleSoft General Ledger/Essbase or similar general ledger/reporting toolsExperience with BlacklineAbility to work effectively in a matrix organizationHistory of progressively increasing responsibility in prior positionsIntermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and WordAbility to connect with SME onsite and do remote knowledge transferTransition ExperienceSolid communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:Advanced proficiency with Microsoft ExcelIntermediate proficiency with Microsoft AccessProven good understanding of general accounting conceptsAt UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
