We are seeking a talented Systems Administrator with a strong background in VMware, Linux, and Windows environments to join our team. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining our virtualized infrastructure, Linux and Windows servers, and associated services. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in system administration, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a deep understanding of VMware, Linux, and Windows technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and administer our VMware vSphere environment, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and virtual machines (VMs).
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows servers to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform capacity planning to ensure scalability and efficiency.
- Implement and maintain high availability solutions for critical systems, including clustering, load balancing, and failover mechanisms.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as system updates, patch management, and backup operations.
- Configure and maintain network services such as DNS, DHCP, LDAP, and Active Directory.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy and support business-critical applications and services.
- Develop and maintain documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and system diagrams.
- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, including troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to system emergencies outside of regular business hours as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience working as a Systems Administrator in a medium to large-scale enterprise environment.
- Strong proficiency in VMware vSphere administration, including experience with ESXi, vCenter Server, vMotion, and HA/DRS.
- Extensive experience with Linux operating systems (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat) including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting.
- Solid understanding of networking principles and protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing.
- Experience with storage technologies such as SAN/NAS, RAID, and iSCSI.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server (MCSE) are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Understanding of security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Nagios, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), or Prometheus.
