The Principal Security Platform Engineer role is part of the Global Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CSIRT) and involves aiding in problem resolution and mentoring the team. Responsibilities include operational security tasks like performance monitoring, log monitoring, security incident detection and response, event reporting, and maintaining content.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a global CSIRT team operating 24/7 in rotational shifts.
  • Collaborate with Platform and Content Engineering for tunings, stakeholder requests, escalations, reporting, and trainings.
  • Administer NTT Data Inc security tools for gathering security logs.
  • Manage the life cycle of supported security tools, including break-fix, patching, and live updates.
  • Follow SOPs and alert stakeholders about log flow/format issues.
  • Create documentation of best practices.
  • Identify automation opportunities to enhance incident response efficiency.
  • Handle security incident responses involving various areas such as End Point Protection, attack analysis, malware analysis, network forensics, and more.
  • Execute maintenance tasks, utilize knowledge articles for diagnosis, and ensure service delivery meets agreements.
  • Investigate incidents, escalate as needed, drive resolution, and document and close resolved incidents.
  • Identify incident root causes, maintain specialism knowledge, and coordinate repairs with team members.
  • Log incidents promptly with detailed information and collaborate with stakeholders for speedy issue resolution.

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

  • Demonstrates expertise in specialized fields and contributes to company objectives creatively.
  • Experienced in SIEM implementation/monitoring, security architecture, and various security technologies.
  • Customer-centric, proactive, detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Displays good analytical and logical thinking, works well in teams, and holds relevant IT certifications.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • IT/Computing degree or relevant qualification.
  • Networking certifications like CCNA, JNCIA, etc., and security certifications such as AZ-500, CISSP, Security+, etc.

Required Experience:

  • Extensive experience in Security technologies and support, remote support, SOC/CSIRT operations, and security incident handling.
  • Knowledge of networking, Linux, security concepts, and managing security controls like Firewall, IDS/IPS, etc.
  • Experience in security engineering, log collection mechanisms, and troubleshooting.
