Your role will encompass Design leadership, expertise in Human-Centered Design methodologies, experience of Design Systems & Pattern Libraries, a deep understanding of cross-disciplinary dynamics, and an innovative approach to Product & Content Design.

Your experience will extend to working with off-the-shelf and third-party products such as Success Factors/Ariba, applying design best practices, evidence-based insights, data-driven strategies, and research to continually enhance the quality of our experiences and design choices.

Furthermore, we're seeking a design visionary who can contribute to our transformative efforts in enhancing thecolleague experience through the power of GenAI.You'll lead the hiring and growth of a top-tier design team, enriching colleagues' lives by aligning with their priorities.

Fostering high performance and cross-functional collaboration, you'll work with Design Leaders & Managers, User researchers, Product Owners, Engineers, and stakeholders to help shape BT for the future.


Your AccountabilitiesDesign Leadership:
Leading and inspiring a team of designers, setting a clear design vision, and providing guidance and mentorship

Strategic Thinking:
Developing a strategic design vision that aligns with the organization's overall strategy and goals

Design Thinking:
Applying a human-centered, iterative design process to solve complex problems and create user-friendly solutions

Innovation:
Encouraging a culture of innovation within the design team and promoting creative problem-solving

Prototyping and Wireframing:
Creating low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes and wireframes to visualize and test design concepts

Usability Testing:
Conducting usability tests to gather user feedback and refine designs accordingly

Visual Design:
Creating aesthetically pleasing interfaces aligned to design best practices and digital brand guidelines

Interaction Design:
Designing the interactions and behaviors of a product, ensuring it's intuitive and user friendly

Information Architecture:
Structuring and organizing information and content for easy navigation and understanding

Critique and Feedback:
Providing constructive feedback to design team members to help them improve their work

Decision-Making:
Making data-driven design decisions and balancing user needs with business objectives

Workshops Facilitation:
Creating, organizing, leading, and facilitating workshops of various formats to foster collaboration among stakeholders, ensuring well-informed and insight-driven decision-making.

Skills you'll need to succeedUser-Centered Design:
Your expertise will involve placing the end user at the forefront of the design process, actively seeking, and integrating user feedback to align products and solutions with user expectations and preferences

Usability and UX Design Principles:
A strong foundation in UX design principles is essential. Understand how users interact with interfaces, including navigation, information architecture, and usability testing.

Design Visionary & Adaptability:


Possess a visionary vision approach to design, with the ability to think beyond immediate needs and anticipate future trends and user expectations.

Staying updated with the latest design tools, and technologies and being open to change and innovation.

Third-Party Tools:
Adeptness in utilising and configuring third-party tools (e.g. Success Factors, Ariba) to facilitate the creation of user-friendly designs that align seamlessly with the organization's strategic goals.

Technical Knowledge:
A solid understanding of design tools and technologies, as well as an ability to work closely with developers to understand technical constraints

Design Systems:
Establishing and maintaining design systems and pattern libraries to ensure design consistency across products

Effective Information Presentation:
Using discovery techniques to transform subject matter expert knowledge into clear, engaging, and user-friendly content.

Connecting the Technical and Non-Technical:
You'll be the bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, adept at translating complex technical constraints into user-friendly solutions. You'll effectively manage stakeholder expectations, facilitate discussions, and convey technical aspects to ensure seamless collaboration.

Accessibility Advocacy:


As a leader, you champion the highest accessibility standards within your team and across the unit, fostering an inclusive environment where accessibility is prioritized and integrated into all aspects of design.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as Senior/Lead Product Designer (or in similar roles), with a significantportion of that experience focused on SASS products and colleague facing tooling.
  • The ability to take a project from inception to completion, continuously enhancing the customer experience.
  • Previous experience working within lean and agile teams
