Job Description:
Category HeadWe are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join our team as a Category Head. As a Category Head, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing a specific category within our organization.

With your expertise and leadership, you will drive the growth and success of the category by developing and implementing effective strategies.


Responsibilities:

Category Strategy:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive category strategy to drive business growth and achieve company objectives.
  • Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of category initiatives.

Product Management:

  • Manage the entire lifecycle of products in the category, from ideation to launch and ongoing performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure the timely development and delivery of highquality products.
  • Conduct regular product reviews, gather feedback, and make datadriven decisions to enhance customer satisfaction.

Vendor and Supplier Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring the availability of highquality products at competitive prices.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with existing and potential suppliers to drive cost savings and improve product assortment.
  • Monitor and evaluate vendor performance, resolving any issues and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.

Sales and Marketing:

  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop effective strategies to drive category sales and market share.
  • Provide guidance and support in the creation of compelling product marketing materials and campaigns.
  • Analyze sales data and consumer insights to identify opportunities for improving customer acquisition and retention.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and support the team in achieving their goals.
  • Identify training and development needs, and create opportunities for team members to enhance their skills.

Requirements:

Experience:

  • 8 to 13 years of relevant experience in category management, product management, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing effective category strategies.
  • Strong experience in managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving supplier performance.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make datadriven decisions.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team towards achieving common goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fastpaced environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
