You are in for an exciting opportunity as a Category Head at Shaya. Your main role will be to develop and put in motion strategies that will help enhance our product range, optimize our merchandising efforts, and ultimately boost our business performance to the max.

The perfect candidate will have a deep understanding of what consumers prefer, current market trends, and the competitive landscape. This knowledge will drive innovation and provide our customers with exceptional experiences.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Category Strategy: Craft and execute a comprehensive plan that aligns with our business goals, market trends, and insights from consumers.
  • Assortment Planning: Take the lead on creating seasonal product assortments, choosing products, setting pricing strategies, and managing inventory to meet sales targets with profitable margins.
  • Vendor Management: Build strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure top-quality products with favorable terms.
  • Merchandising: Collaborate with various teams like design, marketing, and ecommerce to develop merchandising strategies that attract customers, boost engagement, and increase conversion rates.
  • Market Analysis: Continuously analyze the market, conduct competitive research, and predict trends, identifying areas for growth and differentiation within the jewellery category.
  • Performance Optimization: Study category performance metrics including sales, margins, inventory turnover, and customer feedback to spot areas for enhancement and implement data-driven solutions.
  • Financial Management: Work closely with the CEO to manage the Company P&L, monitor category profitability, and find ways to enhance financial performance.
  • Annual Operating Plan: Contribute significantly to shaping the Annual Operating Plan, providing insights and recommendations to drive revenue growth and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate:
  • 10+ years of experience in category management, merchandising, or product development in retail or ecommerce, with a focus on fashion/jewellery being an advantage. Experience in Sales or Performance Marketing is a plus.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing category strategies that boost revenue growth and market share.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data, recognize trends, and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Deep passion for jewellery, fashion, and design with a sharp eye for aesthetics and quality craftsmanship.
