The ideal candidate will lead initiatives to generate and engage with business partners to build new business for the company. This candidate will be focused and have strong communication skills. They should be able to think critically when making plans and have a demonstrated ability to execute a particular strategy.

The Business Development Manager will directly report to the Business Head – India Subcontinent and Middle East.

Place/Location of Work : Mumbai, India

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for sales and business development of Temperature Control Packaging covering the entire Indian market.
  • Identify and acquire prospective clients within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Develop business in large strategic accounts in the Workplace segment, primarily targeting Pharmaceutical and Biotech customers, and achieve assigned revenue targets.
  • Conduct technical presentations, meet key influencers and decision-makers in strategic accounts, create opportunities for trials, and win new business.
  • Support regional teams in creating new accounts and unlocking opportunities in large new accounts.
  • Key accounting for pharmaceutical clients.
  • Manage relationships with key accounts.
  • Arrange senior leaders' meetings with senior managers at customer sites to build strong relationships at all levels in large strategic accounts.
  • Consolidate business in key accounts with new products and applications in unexplored departments. Map the account, processes, and position suitable products for the right applications.
  • Act as the one-point contact between strategic accounts.
  • Provide Key Account experience to large strategic accounts and build strong KCP (Key Account Partnership) connections with them.
  • Hold regular meetings with Global Key Account (GKA) managers leveraging global success in these GKAs.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to regional teams for Pharmaceutical and Biotech segments, assisting them in winning more business in non-strategic accounts.
  • Work closely with the segment Marketing Manager to develop specific commercial programs around strategic accounts.
  • Promote and increase industry awareness about TCP.
  • Actively participate in and provide sales support at trade fairs and conferences.
  • Manage assigned inbound suspect/prospect calls and web email requests.
  • Provide multiple support activities, including oversight of the order entry process, order tracking, and ensuring all necessary client and order paperwork is handled properly. Support preparation and participation in customer quarterly business review meetings.
  • Assist in transitioning client engagement from sales to order desk, delivery, and operations.
  • Provide support and pricing information to designated company third-party distribution partners as they are developed and assigned.
  • Create and implement standardized processes for customer support activities such as data entry, account setup, and quoting.
  • Create and implement key performance metrics for the customer support team.
  • Develop a complete understanding of the industry, product, pricing, and proposal/quoting models.
  • Maintain contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree.
  • 7-8 years of prior industry-related business development experience.
  • Preferably, prior experience in Sales.
  • Relevant experience within pharma cold chain companies.
  • Knowledge about the challenges and mechanisms in cold chain logistics/temperature control packaging.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and conversation skills.
  • Self-motivated with a go-getter attitude and able to work independently.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to support Project Management Business development with innovative ideas and techniques in the cold chain industry.
  • Proven knowledge and execution of successful development strategies.
  • Focused and goal-oriented.
  • Practical problem-solver.
  • Ambitious, but with a down-to-earth demeanour.
