SAMPro or Flexera SAM Implementation Specialist

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SAM (Software Asset Management) Tooling Implementation Specialist with deep expertise in implementing and configuring Flexera or ServiceNow SAMPro platforms. This role involves working closely with clients to design, deploy, and optimize SAM tooling solutions that align with their organizational goals and compliance requirements.

The specialist will serve as a technical solution architect, leading end-to-end implementation efforts, including infrastructure planning, configuration, integration, data management, and ongoing operational support.

Key Responsibilities

Tool Implementation & Configuration

• Lead the end-to-end deployment of SAM tools (SAMPro or Flexera), including initial configuration, connector setup, and system integration.
• Design and implement scalable and maintainable solutions that meet customer-specific licensing, discovery, and asset management requirements.
• Customize modules, dashboards, and reports to match business workflows and KPIs.

System Administration & Maintenance

• Manage all aspects of tool health, including performance tuning, log reviews, and service availability monitoring.
• Execute routine administrative tasks such as system upgrades, patching, backups, and license harvesting schedules.
• Establish high availability and disaster recovery configurations as required.

Data & Integration Management

• Oversee all inbound and outbound data integrations, including SCCM, Active Directory, ServiceNow CMDB, JAMF, AWS, Azure, or other enterprise systems.
• Ensure accurate data ingestion from discovery sources and normalization engines.
• Support scheduled and ad-hoc data uploads and verify data integrity and completeness across environments.

Security & Access Control

• Implement role-based access controls (RBAC), ensuring secure and compliant user access aligned with business functions.
• Regularly review and audit access rights, revoking access as needed in compliance with internal security policies.

Support & Vendor Coordination

• Act as the primary escalation point for technical tool-related issues.
• Liaise with vendors (e.g., Flexera, ServiceNow) for troubleshooting, technical support, and escalations.
• Manage vendor support tickets, document outcomes, and ensure timely resolution.

Client Engagement & Project Delivery

• Gather business requirements, translate them into technical designs, and develop detailed implementation roadmaps.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including procurement, compliance, infrastructure, and software licensing teams.
• Deliver documentation such as runbooks, configuration guides, test scripts, and solution architecture diagrams.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Flexera One / FlexNet Manager Suite or ServiceNow SAMPro, including implementation and administration.
• Deep technical knowledge of SAM tooling architecture, modules (e.g., license optimization, reclamation, entitlement reconciliation), and best practices.
• Experience implementing data connectors, business rules, and license models across hybrid IT environments (on-prem and cloud).
• Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure and ITSM/ITOM tool ecosystems.
• Solid scripting skills (PowerShell, JavaScript, or Python) for automation and custom integration.
• Experience with software discovery tools and inventory solutions (e.g., FNMS agents, ILMT, SCCM, Tanium).
• Proven ability to design and implement complex integration workflows and data normalization processes.
• Familiarity with common software publisher licensing models (Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, IBM, etc.).
• Strong documentation and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in Flexera or ServiceNow SAMPro.
• ITIL v4 Foundation certification.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with cloud-native environments (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and associated licensing implications.
