This role is pivotal in ensuring that engineering intent is preserved while achieving manufacturability, cost targets, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage tooling readiness, and drive production ramp-up with precision and speed.🔧 Key Responsibilities🔹 Prototype to Production TransitionOwn the launch roadmap from initial prototype tooling to mass production readinessValidate prototype tools for dimensional accuracy, process capability, and design intentDefine and execute tooling upgrade plans for production-grade molds, dies, and fixtures🔹 Manufacturing ReadinessLead pilot builds, line trials, and PPAP activities to ensure process stabilityCollaborate with design, quality, and manufacturing teams to resolve DFM/DFA issuesEnsure alignment of BOM, process flow, and work instructions with production goals🔹 Tooling & Equipment CoordinationOversee procurement, commissioning, and validation of production tooling and equipmentManage vendor timelines for tool fabrication, modification, and handoverDrive MoldFlow, FEM, and DOE studies to optimize tooling performance🔹 Launch Governance & ReportingDesign of Process Sheets / P-FMEA Develop and maintain launch dashboards, KPIs, and risk registersFacilitate gate reviews, control plans, and change management processesEnsure compliance with industry standards (e.G., ISO, IATF, RDSO if applicable)📚 QualificationsBachelors degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering8 15 years of experience in product launch, tooling, and production ramp-upStrong knowledge of prototype tooling, injection molding, sheet metal, processesProficiency in SolidWorks, MoldFlow, MS Project, and APQP toolsExperience with PPAP, FMEA, control plans, and root cause analysisFamiliarity with PLM systems, ERP integration, and production documentationExcellent cross-functional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills🌟 Preferred AttributesExperience in railway, automotive, or heavy engineering sectorsExposure to RDSO specificationsAbility to manage multi-site launches and vendor development programsStrategic mindset with hands-on execution capability
