You will work extensively with advanced 3D CAD tools to create parametric models, complex surfaces, sheet-metal parts, and multi-body assemblies while ensuring that every design meets stringent engineering, manufacturability, and compliance requirements.You will be responsible for applying GD&T practices, performing tolerance stack-ups, and preparing simulation-ready models for structural, dynamic, and kinematics analysis. The role also involves creating high-quality engineering documentation, managing drawing revisions, and ensuring alignment with standards such as RDSO or EN.A key part of this position includes design automation—building macros, scripts, and parametric models to improve design efficiency and ensure consistency—along with integrating your designs into larger internal and external assemblies. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving complex mechanical challenges, working closely with cross-functional teams, and delivering robust, production-ready designs in fast-paced engineering environments.ResponsibilitiesParametric 3D ModelingMastery of SolidWorks, CATIA, or Creo for Parts and assemblies.Use of design tables and macros to automate repetitive geometry.Integration of top-down assembly modeling for rail track layouts and fastening systems.Advanced Surface & Sheet Metal DesignCreation of complex geometries for rail profiles, brackets, and protective housings.Use of lofted bends, sweeps, and multi-body parts for composite or hybrid fastening components.Reverse engineering component Mesh to Solids.Tolerance Stack-Up & GD&TApplication of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) for precision mating of fasteners and rails.Simulation of fit and clearance under thermal expansion and load deformation.Design Automation & MacrosDevelopment of SolidWorks macros or CATIA scripts to automate drawing generation and BOM creation.Use of Excel-driven parametric modeling for cost estimation and variant control.CAD–CAE IntegrationSeamless export of CAD models to ANSYS, ABAQUS, or HyperMesh for static/dynamic load simulation.Preparation of clean mesh-ready geometry with defeaturing and contact surface identification.Drawing & DocumentationCreation of detailed 2D drawings with welding symbols, material specs, and fastening torque values.Drawing Revision control and release strategy for Manufacturing Drawings.Use of custom templates for rail component drawings aligned with RDSO or EN standards.Assembly & IntegrationsKinematics study of Multi Body components.Interference analysis modifications.Integration with External and internal Assemblies and SubAssemblies. QualificationsBachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering.6-9 years of hands-on experience in Product Design in Automotive/ Aerospace/ Rail / White Goods Industry.
