Role Overview:

As a Senior Engineer – New Product Development (NPD) in Supply Chain Management within the Electronics industry, you will be responsible for driving supply chain readiness and efficiency throughout the product development lifecycle. You will work closely with R&D, design engineering, sourcing, procurement, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure that new electronic products are designed and launched with optimized cost, quality, lead time, and manufacturability.

This role focuses on early supply chain engagement, supplier collaboration, and risk mitigation to ensure a smooth transition from concept to mass production. You will play a key part in component selection, BOM structuring, and supplier strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and time-to-market targets.

Job Description:

  • Costing of new products for electronics automotive products as per business case.
  • Support NPD team in new product development by arranging samples for proto and pilot stage as per project timeline.
  • Establish Supply chain for all new parts and hand over to regular SCM.
  • Explore new parts/Manufacturer/Supplier and maintain Approved list in system.
  • Drive cost Optimization for new as well as existing products.
  • Support NPD in mechanical part development and costing.
  • Drive regular amendments and maintaining costing for all existing products.
  • Organize regular tech events for NPD team for exploring new parts/ Manufacturers/ Suppliers.

Key Requirements:

  • Self-driven individual having capability of handling a team of minimum 2 people.
  • Proven track record of driving cost optimization.
  • Well versed with systems/audits like ROHS/REACH/IMDS/IATF/ISO/PPAP/DVA.
  • Proficient in SAP/ERP system on analytical level.
  • Excellent MS Excel skills for analysing big data related to SCM.
  • Excellent Written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • B.E./Diploma in Electronics Engineering.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 year of experience in Tier-1 automotive electronics company in Strategic/NPD sourcing.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of automotive electronics (ECUs, sensors, telematics, infotainment).
  • Excellent knowledge of semiconductor parts/Manufacturer/Supplier/Eco system.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical part development and costing.

Preferred Industry Background:

  • Automotive (especially Telematics in 2W/4W/EV & Automotive Electronics)
