What You'll Do:
We are currently seeking a Team Lead, Software Engineering (Operations) to join our rapidly expanding Retail Media team. Retail Media involves placing brand-sponsored advertisements on retailer e-commerce sites and apps. If you've ever seen a "Sponsored Products" listing while browsing a retailer's site, that falls under our domain Our engineering team is responsible for implementing ad placements on retailer sites that seamlessly blend in with native products, using our own JavaScript code libraries. Additionally, the team provides support to the wider Retail Media organization by creating internal tools for business teams and customizing aspects of our solution.
As the team lead, you will collaborate with colleagues in Europe to understand individual market requirements and proactively suggest new ideas to enhance efficiency. The ideal candidate is a fast, autonomous learner with a strong technical background, leadership skills, and a history of creative problem-solving and project deliveries.
This role is based in either Gurgaon, India, or Hyderabad, India
As this role supports our global business, work hours will be between 12:30 pm IST to 09:30 pm IST (March – October) and 1:30 PM IST to 10:30 PM IST from daylight savings (November – February)
Responsibilities:
Foster team growth through mentorship and collaboration to solve complex technical challenges.
Actively shape the team's best practices and standards by staying informed about industry trends and emerging technologies and driving continuous improvement
Review the team's code to ensure quality and adherence to coding standards and troubleshoot technical issues.
Work closely with the team and the Technical Solutions counterparts, to integrate new client solutions and maintain existing ad implementations
Align and oversee technical aspects of projects, coordinating with various teams and participating in architectural planning.
Oversee the development of innovative tools, automated solutions, and product features to meet the needs of prospective and existing Criteo clients, and facilitate the day-to-day job of other team members and connected teams
Who You Are:
Strong technology background such as a degree in Computer Science and at least 6 years of experience in Software Development
Experience with JavaScript and other web programming technologies and front-end frameworks (including but not limited to NodeJS, NPM, Webpack, Angular and Babel)
Experience with HTML styling using CSS/LESS
Experience with code version control using Git
Understanding of system design, architecture, and DevOps practices like CI/CD. Knowledge of hosted platforms, continuous integration, code versioning, and release systems is a plus.
Familiarity with full-stack and web development concepts (including but not limited to RESTful API development, SQL)
Familiarity with development methodologies like Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and commitment
Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate technical specifications and requirements
Ability to mentor and support team members
Project management skills, including setting timelines, managing stakeholders and coordinating tasks
