Job description

  • Develops the overall architecture of the High available GIS infrastructure, including server deployment, network design, and integration with other business systems. This role is crucial for planning scalability and ensuring that the system meets the future demands of the organization.
  • System Integration: Ensures that the GIS infrastructure integrates seamlessly with other IT systems and data sources within the organization. This may involve working with databases, ERP systems, and web services.
  • Security Design: Designs and implements security protocols to protect GIS data and services, aligning with organizational IT security standards.
  • Installation and Configuration: Responsible for the installation of ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, and related components. Configures these components to work together effectively and meet organizational needs.
  • Maintenance and Upgrades: Regularly updates software to the latest versions and patches to ensure security and efficiency. Manages system backups and disaster recovery plans.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitors server performance and undertakes tuning and troubleshooting to optimize the system. Uses logs and other tools to proactively address issues
  • Collaboration with IT Operations: Must work closely with the IT Operations team to define all GIS network traffic requirements as it relates to ArcGIS Service needs while maintaining InfoSec policy controls.
