About the Role
VP & Portfolio Management & Strategic Alignment Lead will serve as a key partner to the Head of GRS CCO, driving the successful execution of strategic initiatives, special projects, and transformation programs. This role will lead the PMO function, ensure strategic alignment across the portfolio, enable leadership effectiveness, and embed robust governance and change management practices across the Capability Center Operations team. The role also includes direct leadership of a team of Project Managers, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring consistent delivery excellence.
Job Duties
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning & Portfolio Alignment
- Establish and govern a centralized portfolio of strategic initiatives, transformation programs, and special projects, ensuring direct alignment with Liberty’s priorities and future-state ambitions.
- Lead annual and quarterly planning cycles, driving OKR development, initiative prioritization, and strategic investment decisions
- Partner closely with the Head of GRS CCO and senior leadership to ensure alignment of project outcomes with business objectives
- Define and institutionalize governance frameworks, operating standards, and reporting protocols to create GRS wise consistency and transparency
- Monitor and optimize portfolio dependencies, risks and capacity to ensure resilient, disruption-free delivery
- Drive the adoption of standardized project management methodologies, tools, and templates across the portfolio
2. PMO Leadership & Project Delivery
- Governance & Standards: Define, implement, and continuously improve PMO frameworks, governance models, and best practices to ensure consistency, transparency, and accountability across global teams
- Executive Reporting: Own and provide ownership over the development and delivery of high-quality dashboards, status reports, and executive briefings to communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership and stakeholders
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a central point of coordination between project teams, business units, and leadership to ensure alignment, resolve conflicts, and manage expectations
- Conduct portfolio health reviews and retrospectives, embedding lessons learned into delivery processes
- Oversee the intake, prioritization, and tracking of initiatives across the Capability Center Operations portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and resource availability
- Monitor end-to-end lifecycle of strategic projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and quality outcomes
3. Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing team of project managers, ensuring capability building, succession planning, and career development within the PMO function
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and performance-driven culture while ensuring consistent application of project management best practices across portfolio
- Build next generation PMO capability by integrating agile practices, automation, and digital enablement into delivery
4. Strategic Leadership Support
- Act as a strategic advisor and thought partner to the GRS CCO Leadership team.
- Drive clarity and focus around organizational priorities, translating vision into execution.
- Prepare executive briefing materials and coordinate leadership team offsites, meetings, and agendas.
- Facilitate workshops, strategy sessions, and leadership alignment forums.
- Support leadership team effectiveness and decision-making accountability.
5. Change Management & Transformation Enablement
- Lead change management planning and strategy for major initiatives impacting the GRS CCO team
- Develop GRS CCO stakeholder maps, initiative specific and CCO-wide communication plans, and engagement strategies
- Ensure smooth adoption of new processes, systems, and ways of working through robust change management practices
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, agility, and innovation
6. Cross-Functional Coordination & Communication
- Serve as a primary liaison for initiative coordination across GRS CCO and global stakeholders
- Provide oversight over the design and delivery of dashboards, performance reports, and scorecards to provide clear visibility into progress, risks, and outcomes
- Strengthen cross functional collaboration to reduce silos, improve decision-making speed, and maximize synergies across CCO and external teams
Example Deliverables:
- Portfolio governance structure, prioritization framework, and reporting templates.
- Custom-built dashboards on initiative progress, risks, and performance metrics.
- Leadership briefing materials and offsite coordination.
- Change management plans and stakeholder engagement strategies.
- Portfolio Health Check Reports and project oversight documentation.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 17+ years of overall experience with majority of experience in project/program management, strategic operations, or organizational change.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience working in a Global Capability Center (GCC) or Shared Services environment.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of PMO frameworks, Lean Portfolio Management, and Agile methodologies.
- Strong understanding of Organizational Change Management frameworks and practices (e.g. PROSCI).
Preferred Skills:
- Strategic thinking with strong analytical, problem-solving capabilities and ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
- Exceptional communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage senior executives and global teams effectively
- Proficiency in modern portfolio and project management tools (Smartsheet, Power BI, MS project, JIRA, Confluence) with the ability to leverage data for decision-making.
- High resilience, adaptability, and collaborative mindset.
- Deep understanding of PMO and transformation frameworks (Agile, Lean and Portfolio Management, OKR and continuous improvement)
- Talent development and coaching mindset – proven ability to build, mentor, and scale high-performing project teams.
- Executive presence and facilitation skills, comfortable leading discussions, workshops and large cross functional teams
