EMC is looking for a Senior Sustainable Finance Specialist to join our team in Mumbai

We are looking for a Senior Sustainable Finance Specialist to anchor and grow our work on sustainable finance and ESG-aligned investments. This is a leadership-track role that blends finance expertise with sustainability.

We're seeking a candidate who has:

  • 8+ years of experience in sustainable finance, ESG investing, or responsible banking.
  • Strong grasp of global frameworks (EU Taxonomy, ISSB, TCFD, SBTi, SDG Finance Taxonomy, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience in financial modeling and structuring of sustainability-linked instruments.
  • Experience working with financial institutions, corporates, or multilaterals especially climate focused funds
  • Exceptional communication, proposal writing, and client engagement skills.
  • Passion for systems thinking and driving real impact through finance.
  • Master's degree in sustainable finance, or related fields. CFA/CA/CFA ESG preferred.

Role:

  • Design and implement sustainable finance strategies for clients including banks, corporations, and DFIs.
  • Lead engagements on green bonds, sustainability-linked loans (SLLs), ESG risk assessments, and taxonomy alignment.
  • Support project finance teams in climate finance structuring, particularly for renewable energy, circular economy, and adaptation projects.
  • Advise clients on ESG disclosures, ratings improvement, and integration of sustainability into corporate finance decisions.
  • Contribute to development of tools, knowledge products, and capacity-building programs.
  • Represent EMC in external forums, engage with financiers, investors, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to EMC's thought leadership.
