Role Description

This is a highly visible role for an Applications/Firmware Engineering Lead with 7+ years of experience who designs leading-edge embedded hardware and firmware solutions for digital power supply, influences new generation digital power controller definition, and supports validation of new chip features in coordination with designers and system architecture engineer.

Responsibilities:
  • Develops architectures and designs real-time demo code for worldwide digital power customers using ARM based TI digital power controllers.
  • Provides technical training/support to key customers during different phases of the design-in process.
  • Consults with Systems and Designs to define common customer features/designs for new product definition.
  • Trains FAEs on products.
  • Works with marketing and systems to support competitive analysis.
  • Evaluates customer returns to recreate issues and provide recommendations.
  • Supports on-site and off-site customer board bring-up and debug camps.
  • Owns online forum support and provides prompt and meaningful responses.
Desired Skill Set:
  • Strong understanding of power electronics, power conversion, control systems, and circuit analysis fundamentals.
  • Good grasp of power converter topology analysis modelling, digital power conversion, and control concepts.
  • Working knowledge and experience in embedded C, assembly language programming for power converter control.
  • Familiarity and experience with ARM processors.
  • Experience developing, bringing up, characterizing, and productizing AC-DC , DC-DC, and Inverter topologies preferably with digital control -with microcontrollers / FPGA/microprocessors.
  • Knowledge and experience in magnetics design for SMPS.
  • Digital communication interfaces like PMBus, SPI, UART, CAN-FD experience.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in Applications/Firmware Engineering.
  • Strong team player with customer-centric focus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Bachelor of Engineering/Technology (electrical engineering) or M.Tech/M.E in Power electronics/drives/energy systems preferred qualifications.
