We're Hiring | Director – Business Unit (Capital Goods/Industrial Machinery)

Location: Pune

Experience: 15+ years in a senior leadership/sales role

We are hiring for a European JV-led industrial automation and engineering company is looking to onboard a dynamic business leader to head its Powder Division Machine in India. This role will spearhead sales, strategy, vendor development, and end-to-end project delivery across India and South Asia—with future market expansion into the Middle East & Africa.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business unit P&L and drive sales strategy and revenue growth
  • Own new business acquisition across pharma, food, and FMCG sectors
  • Build and guide cross-functional teams of 40+ members
  • Develop local vendor network and oversee procurement efficiency
  • Deliver project execution, resource planning, and client engagement
  • Collaborate with international HQ and maintain high-trust stakeholder relationships
  • Set up and execute go-to-market strategy for new product lines
  • Represent the business in key customer forums and industry platforms
  • Identify growth opportunities across geographies and product lines

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 15+ years of experience in capital goods/industrial machinery sales
  • Strong exposure to automation solutions for pharma, FMCG, or food processing industries
  • Proven track record in frontline sales, project management, and team leadership
  • Experience working with or competing against brands
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on capability to manage business operations and complex projects
  • Engineering graduate from a reputed university
  • Exposure to German/Japanese work culture is a plus
  • Comfortable managing C-level relationships and board reporting
  • Willingness to travel and engage with global teams
