Objective:We are looking for a highly skilled and fast-paced video editor to join our newsroom team. The ideal candidate will be capable of delivering high-quality edits quickly in a breaking-news environment while maintaining strong creative and visual storytelling standards.You should be proficient in modern editing styles and techniques suited for digital and social media platforms, with a strong sense of pacing, sound design, and visual appeal. The role requires attention to detail, editorial awareness, and the ability to work seamlessly with producers and reporters under tight deadlines.Key ResponsibilitiesEdit news packages, explainers, and short-form videos for digital platforms with speed and accuracy.Deliver high-quality edits under tight turnaround times, especially during breaking news.Stay updated with the latest video editing tools, software, trends in digital journalism, and creative storytelling techniques. Troubleshoot technical issues and optimise workflow for timely delivery of video projects. Assist in repurposing content for social media or short-form video formats.Collaborate with producers, reporters, and other stakeholders to ensure the final output aligns with editorial guidelines, narrative structure, and storytelling objectives.Enhance videos using graphics, motion design, sound design, color grading, and other post-production techniques to create professional-grade content.
