Vedanta's Aluminium Business is one of the world's top and India's largest producer of aluminium at 2.3 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). The company is rapidly scaling its efforts to become a fully integrated, global leader in aluminium production, offering a wide range of high-quality aluminium products. Vedanta's Bauxite and Coal mines will play a crucial role in this endeavour, strategically poised to be the largest value creators for the aluminium business.

To partner with us in this exciting journey and unlock new values for the business, we are looking for passionate professionals for the position of Head Approvals - Environment Clearance & Forest Clearance, Coal mine at Mines Aluminium business. This role will be crucial for commencing new mining operations and to achieve the business vision.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • To look after the preparation of Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) and liaise with regulatory agencies towards obtaining environment clearance (EC), CTE and CTO
  • To ensure the compliance to EC, CTE and CTO
  • To develop and implement environment management plan (EMP)
  • To obtain stage-1 and stage-2 Forest Clearance for the mine and obtaining Forest Clearance of over land conveyor corridor (OLCC) of the project, whenever required
  • To co-ordinate with Land and R&R team for allotment of CA Land
  • To facilitate for public hearing/ Gram Sabhas to ensure Social License for mines operationalization
  • To design and execute governance system for monitoring of environmental and other statuary compliances as stipulated in EC & FC approvals and Vedanta HSE and Sustainability standards

Candidate Profile

  • 60% and above throughout the education
  • Post-Graduate in Geology/ Environmental Sciences or graduation in Engineering
  • 10-16 Years of relevant experience
  • High quality, result oriented leader with hunger to drive transformational change
  • Proven Track record of obtaining environment and forest clearances for green field mines
