The company plays a significant role in the frozen food industry and is known for its reliable and sustainable practices.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role for a Purchasing Executive: General (Frozen Food), located in Karnataka, India. The Purchasing Executive will be responsible for managing purchase orders, processing purchase requisitions, overseeing procurement operations, and communicating with suppliers to maintain an efficient supply chain. The position requires close collaboration with internal teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and frozen food products while adhering to company policies and quality standards.Procurement & Sourcing:Identify and source suppliers General purchaser like Packing material (LDPE bag, corrugated box, HDPE Bag etc) consumable, chemicals, spice ingredients etc &  raw materials.Develop new vendor contacts and maintain existing supplier relationships.Source and procure packaging materials suitable for frozen products (poly bags, cartons, pouches, labels, etc.).Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, delivery, and reliability.Price Negotiation & Cost Control:Negotiate competitive rates while ensuring quality and timely supply.Monitor price fluctuations of key raw materials and provide market intelligence reports.Work on cost-saving initiatives without compromising on product quality. Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination:Coordinate with production, stores, and logistics teams to ensure adequate inventory levels.Plan procurement schedules based on production forecasts and seasonal availability.Ensure timely delivery of materials to maintain continuous production flow.Vendor & Quality Management:Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure raw materials meet product specifications and food safety standards.Conduct vendor audits and inspections where required.Maintain supplier documentation, certifications, and agreements.Documentation & Reporting:Prepare purchase orders, GRNs (Goods Receipt Notes), and maintain accurate purchase records.Update procurement data in ERP or company systems.Generate regular purchase and cost analysis reports.QualificationsMin 3 year proven expertise in managing Purchase Orders, Purchase Requisitions, and Purchase Management processesStrong knowledge and experience in Procurement strategies and practicesEffective Communication skills for vendor coordination and stakeholder interactionDetail-oriented with the ability to collect and analyze supply chain dataBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related fieldExperience in the food processing or IQF industry is a significant advantageProficiency in relevant software tools and systems used in procurementStrong knowledge of IQF process, cold chain management, and frozen food handling.Understanding of seasonal sourcing for vegetables, fruits, and seafood.Familiarity with food-grade packaging materials and supplier markets.Working knowledge of food safety and quality standards (FSSAI, HACCP, ISO).Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and purchase documentation.Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
