About the Role
The AGM – Government Affairs & Local Coordination will oversee Liaising activities between our company, government authorities, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders.
The primary objective is to ensure compliance with regulations, obtain necessary approvals and permits, and foster positive relationships with external entities to facilitate smooth operations and project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Government Liaising and Environmental Management :
- Act as the primary point of contact for interactions and communications with government authorities, including local, state, and central government bodies.
- Maintain strong relationships with relevant government officials, regulatory agencies, and departments to facilitate effective Liaising.
- Stay updated on new laws, regulations, and policies related to real estate and construction, ensuring compliance with all applicable requirements.
Approvals and Permits:
Coordinate the timely acquisition of necessary approvals, permits, licenses, and clearances from relevant authorities for various real estate projects.
Compliance and Regulatory Matters:
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, building codes, environmental guidelines, and statutory requirements.
Relationship Building:
Build and maintain positive and productive relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, industry associations, local communities, and external entities.
Project Support and Documentation:
Provide Liaising support and guidance to project teams, architects, contractors, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Advisory and Risk Management:
Provide expert advice on regulatory matters, policy changes, and potential risks impacting the company's operations or projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, BE (Civil), Law, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
Required Skills
- 15-20 years of experience in Liaising and regulatory affairs within the real estate industry, preferably with a realty company or real estate developer OR with Govt Organizations.
- In-depth knowledge of real estate laws, regulations, building codes, and government approval processes.
- Strong understanding of local, state, and central government structures and procedures.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes.
- Familiarity with project management principles and practices in the real estate sector.
