The Job in a Nutshell :

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize our database systems.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of database technologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to ensuring the availability, performance, and security of critical data infrastructure.

What You Will Do :

Database Management :

- Design, install, configure, and maintain database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Mongo DB, Cassandra, Aerospike etc.). Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and backup solutions.

Performance Optimization :

- Monitor database performance and conduct tuning for optimal efficiency. Analyze query execution plans and optimize queries for speed and resource utilization.

Security and Compliance :

- Implement and maintain data security policies to protect sensitive information. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, or other industry standards.

Data Integrity and Backup :

- Develop and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies. Perform regular testing of backups and recovery plans.

Collaboration :

- Work closely with developers, system administrators, and data analysts to support database-related needs. Provide guidance on database design, normalization, and data modeling.

Automation and Scripting :

- Develop scripts and tools for database monitoring, management, and automation. Implement solutions for repetitive tasks to improve efficiency.

Troubleshooting :

- Identify and resolve database issues, ensuring minimal downtime and impact. Act as the escalation point for complex database-related problems.

What Are We Looking For :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

- Minimum of 7+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.

- Proficiency in database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Mongo DB, Cassandra, Aerospike, Redis etc.

- Strong understanding of database design principles, indexing, partitioning, and replication.

- Experience with database monitoring tools.

- Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell, SQL scripting).
