Job Purpose

To manage and execute strategic procurement activities of façade systems, materials, and services with a focus on cost optimization, supplier performance, and integration with sales engineering requirements. This role will act as a bridge between the Sales Engineering team and Procurement to ensure materials and specifications are aligned with project and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Development

  • Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers for key façade materials (e.g., ACP, glass, brackets, extrusions, hardware, gaskets, etc.).
  • Negotiate long-term pricing agreements and contracts aligned with project cycles and market trends.
  • Build a vendor database for domestic and international suppliers with rating systems.

2. Project-Based Procurement Planning

  • Review Bill of Quantities (BOQ), technical drawings, and specifications shared by the Sales Engineering and Design teams.
  • Develop material procurement plans based on project milestones and lead times.
  • Ensure just-in-time delivery aligned with production schedules and site requirements.

3. Collaboration with Sales & Estimation Teams

  • Work closely with the Sales Engineers and Estimation Department to:
  • Review technical feasibility and cost implications of façade materials.
  • Suggest alternative materials or suppliers to support value engineering efforts.
  • Provide procurement input during tendering or bid preparation.

4. Commercial & Risk Management

  • Conduct commercial analysis (cost comparison, landed cost analysis, payment terms).
  • Maintain cost controls by tracking variances from budgets and forecasts.
  • Identify supply chain risks and propose mitigation strategies.

5. Technical Evaluation & Specification Control

  • Evaluate material samples and test certificates in coordination with Quality Control and Engineering.
  • Ensure compliance with façade system specifications, local building codes, and client requirements.
  • Raise RFI (Request for Information) where required for clarification.

6. Inventory and Logistics Coordination

  • Coordinate with stores and logistics for timely delivery and storage planning.
  • Track shipment schedules, customs clearance, and vendor dispatches.

7. Documentation and ERP System Management

  • Maintain all procurement documentation, purchase orders, and supplier communication.
  • Enter and track procurement data using ERP or material tracking software.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical / Civil / Industrial Engineering (preferably with MBA or Supply Chain Certification).
  • 3 to 4 years of experience in procurement or supply chain in façade, Fabrication, Manufacturing or construction industries.
  • Knowledge of façade systems and components (unitized, semi-unitized, curtain wall, cladding) is a added advantage
  • Strong understanding of reading drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and MS Excel
  • Understanding of Incoterms, import documentation, and customs processes is a plus.
