DESCRIPTIONAt Amazon we re working to be the most customer-centric company on earth Amazon regularly builds and extends its Fulfillment Centers Sortation Centers and Delivery Stations and strategically sources products and services to serve its customers We seek an innovative analytical candidate well-versed in the global supply chain landscape and value engineering principles This role involves collaborating with multiple teams to develop highly accurate cost models and value engineering initiatives aimed at optimizing expenditure and maximizing efficiency across our operations Your experience in working with diverse global teams effectively communicating with stakeholders and driving value-based decisions is essential We re in search of exceptionally talented bright and driven individuals to lead innovation in Procurement Value Engineering Join us and be part of making history We are seeking an experienced versatile and customer-obsessed Procurement Specialist Value Engineering who will be responsible for driving value engineering initiatives in one or several procurement categories for example Packaging Robotics Material Handling Equipment CAPEX Freight MRO The ideal candidate has experience in procurement value engineering with an expertise in one or several of the mentioned procurement categories Alternatively the candidate is a mechanical engineer with industrial expertise and a deep understanding of cost drivers value optimization and ideally experience in supplier negotiations Ability to steer extended cross-discipline virtual teams as well as project management and executive presentation skills are essential This opportunity requires excellent technical problem-solving and communication skills Ideal candidates thrive in a rapidly advancing changing delivery-focused environment Main responsibilities Develop overall procurement value engineering roadmap and establish should-costing for one or several procurement categories Utilize value engineering methodologies and appropriate software tools to prepare reliable bottom-up cost models should-cost targets and value optimization opportunities during design specification and development process in close collaboration with category managers engineering and construction Support preparation and evaluation of call for tenders and supplier quotations prepare negotiation dossiers from value engineering viewpoint in close collaboration with category managers Ensure supplier quotations meet should cost estimates and value engineering targets support negotiations by challenging quotations using technical analysis aiming for cost reductions and value optimization Advise on the cost and value impact of changes in specification Collaborate with suppliers and internal customers to investigate and identify product innovations design-to-value initiatives and value engineering opportunities with the ultimate target to achieve cost improvement and value optimization Communicate with and support management decisions by providing appropriate cost and value information Basic qualifications Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from Tier 1 Institute Ability to make quick decisions and solve complex problems with limited information Wide knowledge of Packaging Robotics Freight and associated benchmark technologies Demonstrated should costing and value engineering experience - work breakdown structure bottom-up calculation and comparison with cost-breakdown-structure from supplier and industry benchmark Good IT systems knowledge and skills including advanced Excel skills Expertise in software programs for cost management and value engineering Ability to comfortably and confidently present and influence all levels within the organization and to work with both technical and non-technical teams Oral and written communication skills are crucial as well as the ability to think clearly analyze quantitatively and prioritize tasks Preferred qualifications MSc MBA Deep understanding of the procurement process and or value engineering ideally with an industrial equipment manufacturer Experience negotiating contracts and driving value-based decisions Results-oriented person with a strong delivery focus BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 2 years of program or project management experience - 1 years of supply chain experiencePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Knowledge of Lean principles and DMAIC methodology - Experience in MS Access and SQL - Experience in requirement gathering and ability to write clear and detailed requirement documentOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers If you have a disability and need a workplace accommodation or adjustment during the application and hiring process including support for the interview or onboarding process please visit https amazon jobs content en how-we-hire accommodations for more information If the country region you re applying in isn t listed please contact your Recruiting Partner
