Job description:

  • Hands-on maintenance of PostgreSQL databases, ensuring uptime, reliability, and performance.
  • Design and implement procedures for backup, failover, and recovery to deliver data integrity and business continuity.
  • Provide hands-on database expertise to development teams, advising on schema design, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Proactively monitor database health and performance; identify and resolve issues before they impact production.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and service providers (AWS, Enterprise DB etc.) in the resolution of issues
  • Establish and document database standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Contribute to the broader data architecture strategy as the organization scales and evolves.
  • Recommend and implement best practices for data security, compliance, and scalability.
  • Define, agree and maintain improvement roadmap for the database estate.
