About the Institution

The AeroDef Training Academy (ANTA) is a flagship initiative by the AeroDef Nexus Group aimed at building a vertically integrated aerospace and defense training ecosystem in India. The Academy offers technical skilling and certification programs designed to meet the needs of public and private sector aerospace and aviation stakeholders across civil and defense domains.

Key areas of current and future training include (indicatively):

  • Predictive maintenance and diagnostic systems
  • Composite materials and aerospace manufacturing
  • Bid and offset program documentation
  • Regulatory compliance and special processes (e.g., NDT, NADCAP)
  • Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) and Pilot Training programs

The Academy aligns with national priorities such as Skill India, Make in India (Defense), and UDAN, and is designed to operate under DGCA, NSDC, EASA, and industry-aligned standards. With a phased, lean capital deployment model, ANTA aims to deliver training outcomes, employment pathways, and industry partnerships from Year 1 onwards.

Position Summary:

AeroDef Nexus invites applications for the position of Director – AeroDef Training Academy, a senior leadership role that combines strategic vision with hands-on execution. The selected individual will be responsible for managing curriculum development, digital content production, instructor engagement, placement partnerships, and regulatory alignment.

The Director will also play a pivotal role in preparing the institution for Phase III (DGCA-approved AME licensing programs) and Phase IV (Pilot Training School with certified simulators and fleet infrastructure), as outlined in the Academy's DPR.

Key Responsibilities:Academic and Content Leadership
  • Design and deliver modular, job-role-aligned training programs in technical domains relevant to aerospace and defense sectors
  • Oversee the development of digital learning assets using professional tools (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Audacity)
  • Implement and manage a cloud-based Learning Management System (LMS) for structured delivery, assessment, and tracking
  • Maintain alignment of all courseware with industry certifications such as DGCA, EASA, NSDC, and NADCAP
Industry Engagement and Placement Pathways
  • Build and manage partnerships with OEMs, MROs, PSUs, MSMEs, and global training providers (e.g., Frasca, CAE, GE Inspection)
  • Align training programs with industry requirements and employment outcomes, including full-time, contract, and consulting opportunities
  • Lead job-readiness initiatives such as resume clinics, mock interviews, and targeted upskilling
  • Track placement metrics and maintain regular engagement with hiring entities
Operational and Institutional Management
  • Manage all day-to-day functions of the Academy, including scheduling, budgeting, infrastructure, and digital systems
  • Ensure quality delivery across hybrid and physical formats with lean team structures and expert instructors
  • Coordinate leased infrastructure and modular deployments in line with the phased capital strategy (₹5–7 Cr initial outlay)
  • Monitor performance data to drive continuous improvement in learner engagement and placement outcomes
Strategic Partnerships and Expansion
  • Serve as the principal liaison to regulatory bodies (DGCA, NSDC, DRDO, DGAQA), industry partners (HAL, BEL, Airbus India), and academic collaborators (IIAEM, NMIT, RVCE)
  • Lead Phase III and Phase IV readiness for AME licensing and Pilot Training, including infrastructure, approvals, and simulator acquisition
  • Represent the Academy at policy events, industry roundtables, and investor forums
  • Support proposal development for public–private partnerships, grant funding, and long-term service contracts
Candidate ProfileRequired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Materials Engineering, or a related technical field (Master's or MBA preferred)
  • 8–12 years of experience in technical training, aerospace skilling, digital content development, or aviation education
  • Demonstrated proficiency in digital content tools (e.g., CapCut, Premiere Pro, Camtasia, Audacity)
  • Experience implementing and managing LMS platforms for technical education delivery
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; Kannada or Hindi proficiency is an advantage
  • Willingness to travel extensively for industry and institutional outreach (within Karnataka and across India)
Preferred Background:
  • Prior leadership in an AME school, aerospace skilling institute, or flight training academy
  • Familiarity with regulatory and accreditation processes (DGCA, EASA, NSDC, NADCAP)
  • Experience working with government skilling initiatives, offset programs, or defense-related education mandates
  • Exposure to B2B/B2G contract management, curriculum accreditation, and faculty development
