Business Services Manager

Altum Consulting are excited to be partnering with a global Media brand to recruit a motivated and detail-oriented Shared Services professional to help strengthen and grow their Network Business Services function in Gurgaon, India. This role is hands-on and operational, focused on building, improving, and managing processes that deliver high-quality financial and administrative support across the company.

The Business Services Manager will work closely with best-in-class providers and internal teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations across key processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense management, reconciliations, reporting, and vendor management. This individual will play a crucial role in implementing process improvements, adopting new technologies, and ensuring consistent, accurate, and efficient service delivery.

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO

Technology & Process Implementation: Lead the hands-on implementation of automation and workflow tools to improve the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of financial processes. Evaluate and identify best-in-class providers, ensuring selected solutions are practical, scalable, and appropriate for our existing infrastructure. Partner with Finance and IT teams to integrate new solutions seamlessly into current systems without creating unnecessary complexity or risk. Optimize ERP and reporting tools to better support day-to-day operations and management reporting needs.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Proactively research, identify, and evaluate external providers that can deliver best-in-class support for finance operations. Manage ongoing relationships with third-party providers to ensure service quality, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to SLAs. Build collaborative relationships with internal finance teams and key business stakeholders.

Operational Delivery: Manage core financial processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, intercompany eliminations, currency translations, expense claim processing, and chart of accounts maintenance. Ensure all processes are accurate, compliant, and completed in a timely manner. Support audits with preparation of schedules and responses to auditor inquiries.

Service Delivery & Reporting: Establish and maintain clear service standards and SLAs for internal clients. Monitor performance against those standards, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery across all functional areas. Provide accurate, transparent financial and operational reporting to stakeholders, with a focus on clarity and consistency. Drive a culture of client service within the Network Business Services team, ensuring internal stakeholders feel supported and informed.

Team Leadership: Assist with recruiting, training, and managing a small team of finance and IT professionals. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Continuous Improvement: Act as a change agent by identifying opportunities to simplify, standardize, and enhance processes. Champion the adoption of best-in-class practices and tools across the Network Business Services function.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field,
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3 years in an implementation role within a shared services environment.
  • Proven ability to identify and evaluate best-in-class providers and integrate their services into existing finance and IT infrastructure without overcomplicating or disrupting operations.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience implementing automation and workflow solutions, not just managing them.
  • Experience implementing systems and tools for a shared service / business services function within an advertising holding company or professional services company is preferred.

Experience working with global / multi time-zone teams is a plus.
