Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization

The Senior Specialist – Retail Design (Architect) delivers high-quality and timely design solutions for adidas retail stores. The role ensures compliance with brand standards, local regulations, and global retail design guidelines while shaping consumer experience, store functionality, and brand consistency across Emerging Markets.

What We Are Looking For

An experienced Architect/Retail Designer with 4–8 years of expertise in retail, fashion, or FMCG environments. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills in store design, layouts, zoning, and specifications with a solid understanding of consumer journeys and retail trends. They are detail-oriented, collaborative, and capable of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines. Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and a passion for innovative retail experiences are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Design Compliance & Execution

  • Ensure all design solutions adhere to construction standards, safety regulations, and adidas design guidelines.
  • Develop detailed design drawings, zoning plans, elevations, and façades.
  • Maintain consistency of layouts and façades across markets.

Project Development & Coordination

  • Prepare Terms of Reference and tender documents for suppliers and partners.
  • Conduct site visits for measurements, supervision, and acceptance of works.
  • Provide specifications for retail equipment and furniture aligned with store concepts.
  • Monitor project timelines, track progress, and deliver on schedule.

Retail Experience & Zoning

  • Create sales area zoning plans, capacity calculations, and merchandising layouts.
  • Collaborate with Omni-channel teams on bubble plans, zoning, and digital consumer journey layouts.
  • Design non-standard marketing zones and lighting plans to elevate customer experience.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with Hub Store Development, Omni-channel, and Procurement teams.
  • Support market teams with design reviews and approvals.

Innovation & Development

  • Stay current with retail design trends and marketplace innovations.
  • Pursue training to strengthen design and technical expertise.
  • Introduce new design concepts that enhance store performance and consumer experience.

Requisite Education & Experience / Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture
  • 4–8 years of professional experience in architecture and retail design
  • Industry background in retail sporting goods, fashion, or FMCG preferred
  • Exposure to cross-functional areas such as business development, IT, retail operations, or supply chain
