Meet the team

The mission of SAP S/4HANA and the Public Cloud ERP Product Management team is to drive and grow SAP’s core business as a market leader in cloud ERP. We are responsible for defining product scenarios based on market and target customer needs and translating them into consumable product requirements for engineering teams. We work hand-in-hand with our engineering and product marketing teams, as well as with our customers and partners on continuously improving our SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition product. Product Management is the authoritative voice of the legitimate challenges customers face, evangelizing an outcome-based product vision and roadmap that truly solves customer pain points by creating products that delight, yet serve the needs of SAP.

The SaaS foundation provides the fundamental services for the success of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition entire functional areas: 

• Ensuring a consistent customer experience across all functional areas by delivering important enablers and necessary supplements 
• Striving to cover the entire product. Current focus is on the ABAP Core, and reuse services on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)get into focus as well 
• Enabling IT user/Business user persona with supporting functionality

The Role

We are looking for a passionate candidate that can lead a professional and future-oriented cloud product management team(s). Ideally, you bring a track record in leading multi-national cloud and state-of-the-art SaaS units and are used to working in a fast-paced and agile organization. You will need to drive your organization towards a true SaaS mindset and setup, and quickly establish credibility and trust with key SAP leaders, product marketing and product management teams, engineering teams, customers, and your future peers. As a manager, you will have a CEO mindset, meaning you have accountability for driving success and growth of your respective product area. 

Your future product management team has end-to-end responsibility for making sure that SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition comes with the right SaaS foundation and cloud qualities including but not limited to master data management, document management, output management, information lifecycle management ILM. They are also responsible to work on identity and access governance IAG, compliance topics, and managing multiple BTP based services and applications. Therefore, expertise in one or more of these topic areas is quite advantageous.

• Master Data Management (MDM): Expertise in MDM is crucial as it involves defining and managing the critical data like Business Partner and Product Master which are used in business processes in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
• Document Management (DM): The ability to oversee DM capabilities in a cloud environment is important to ensure efficient and secure storage, retrieval, version control, and collaboration of documents within SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
• Output Management: Experience in output management is required to ensure that the system can generate various types of business outputs in different formats and channels, while also supporting personalization and automation.
• Information Lifecycle Management (ILM): Knowledge of ILM is vital for effectively managing the lifecycle of data, including its creation, retention, archiving, and disposal, in compliance with legal, regulatory, and business requirements.
• Identity and Access Management (IAM): Understanding IAM principles and best practices is necessary to secure theuser access to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. Access to business apps is controlled by a role-based authorization management. Roles are assigned to users and provide access to certain business tasks..
• BTP Based Services and Applications: Expertise in managing services and applications within SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) is advantageous, as it enables seamless integration, orchestration, and monitoring of various cloud-based services that extend the functionality of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

What you’ll do

The SaaS Foundation Manager (m/f/d) Public Cloud ERP Product Management will report to Head of Product Management - SaaS Foundation and lead a team across multiple locations. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Be a strong influencer across SAP and in the market
• Lead a highly motivated and world class product management unit with focus on SaaS foundation and the particular subjects stated in the role definition’s section that supports the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition’s strategic direction and growth ambitions
• Understand and take ownership (with your team) of customer problems and turn them into product solutions from concept through to requirements, design, and delivery, collaborating with product marketing, engineering, and other stakeholders in doing so
• Engage customers, partners, and other stakeholders at all stages of the product lifecycle to ensure we are solving the right problems and building products our customers need  
• Be an spokesperson for Cloud ERP within SAP and with analysts, press, and influencers 
• Create a highly innovative organization with strong focus on Employee Engagement and leadership NPS

What you bring

• 6+ years of relevant work experience in the software industry, preferably in Product Management
• Excellent people management & leadership skills and ability to deal with high pressure from internal and external stakeholders 
• Excellent verbal, communication skills with the customers, partners and internal teams, as well as board/executive level presentation skills
• Ideally, an international track record showcasing that you can effectively relate to multicultural teams 
• Strong customer focus with previous exposure to key customers, as well as partner orientation
• Self-motivated and results-driven, with demonstrable success in previous positions
• Expertise in one or multiple of the core topics mentioned above would be advantageous
• Understanding of how to develop a product strategy and a product roadmap based on developing strong market expertise for a topic or product area
• Fluent or near-native English language skills
