Job Description:

   

In the Finance and Corporate Strategy team we ensure that the businessâs capital strategies are operationally supported and strategically focused. This is how we work to secure the greatest return on investment for the global company. By gathering and analysing financial data we can influence decisions within the business, drive initiatives, and help ensure alignment with our wider objectives.

Job Family Definition:

1. Record Analysis - Examine ongoing and outgoing order, shipment and logistics records to identify eligible duty drawback items. Ensure accurate documentation of all transactions related to duty drawbacks.

2. Documentation - Prepare and maintain precise records in compliance with US customs Drawback requirements. Verify and compile all necessary documentation for duty drawback claims.

3. Regulatory Compliance - Stay updated with the latest duty drawback regulations and guidelines issued by US Customs. Ensure all processes adhere to the legal requirements to avoid discrepancies.

4. Claims Preparation - Support duty drawback claims preparations by obtaining documents necessary to substantiate claims. Coordinate with different departments (Logistics, Finance, Business) to gather required information for claims.

5. Audit and Review - Conduct regular audits of duty drawback records to ensure accuracy and compliance. Address and resolve any discrepancies identified during audits.

6. Reporting - Generate operational and management reporting as required. Communicate effectively with management regarding progress, issues, and suggestions for process improvement.

7. Team Collaboration - Work closely with the logistics, finance, and compliance teams to ensure seamless operations. Provide training and guidance to junior staff on duty drawback processes and regulations.

Management Level Definition:

Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project leader, providing direction to team activities and facilitating information validation and the team decision-making process. Exercises independent judgment to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle most unique situations. May seek advice to make decisions on complex business issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the US Drawback Operation records management
  • Creates new operational efficiencies and process improvements related to records retentions
  • Oversees the development and delivery of complex initiatives that can impact the supply chain globally, typically requiring the leadership of cross-functional and cross-regional teams.
  • Independently executes the records management processes
  • Reviews performance metrics on a regular basis, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Contributes to priority projects with complex analyses and assists in developing recommendations.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong analytical and data modeling skills

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Understanding of supply chain and business processes

  • Very Strong communication and influencing skills; mastery in English and local language.
  • Proven relationship management skills.
  • Strong project management skills to lead cross-functional teams; recognized as Subject Matter Expert.
  • Strong business acumen and technical knowledge within area of responsibility.
  • Strong understanding of the company's overall supply chain strategy.
  • Developed leadership skills including team-building and conflict resolution and management.

What you need to bring:

Education and Experience Required:

  • First level university degree or equivalent experience; may have advanced university degree.
  • Typically 4-6 years of experience in a supply chain function.
  • Broker's license and/or 4-6 years of experience in a customs/global trade function.
