Business Development Role
ABC is mandated to hire Business Development for an International Private Banking setup in Mumbai.
Business transformation and driving the Global Indians strategy
- Support the MD Private Bank Asia and the Chief of Staff in driving and executing the key priorities for the Global Indians businesses, including platform enhancements, more robust governance, having an adequate sales management function in partnership with Finance.
- Coordinate effectively with Global Indians internal stakeholders across Private locations namely UK, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia to scale up India inbound, India outbound and non-India booking segments of the business.
- Drive strong collaboration between locations to deliver a joined-up client proposition to a Global Indian client.
- Drive the India product and platform execution plan in line with the Global Indians product strategy.
- Play a key role in the development of the Singapore booking centre.
- Ensure access to all the Private Banking platforms across locations are offered seamlessly to the Global Indian client.
- Define the commercial objectives and medium to long-term strategy for the Global Indians business. This should include considering internal and external factors such as available technology, competitive and regulatory environments, and the risk appetite.
- Support the Sales Heads in developing and implementing client acquisition/prospection strategy for Global Indians across global corridors.
Global Indians market intelligence:
- Have a comprehensive and updated understanding of the entire Global Indians market.
- Run a strong market intelligence process for Global Indians in coordination with the Business Intelligence lead.
- Lead the new client acquisition strategy by ensuring a continuous flow of Global Indian leads.
- Track public and private market liquidity event for Global Indian clients, in coordination with key stakeholders in non-India locations as well.
- Engagement with Corporate and Investment Bank partners to support more deal flow and supporting key transactions to completion.
- Ensure the effective allocation of qualified leads to Bankers across all PB locations.
- Set up an effective tracking mechanism to track progress on new client acquisitions from these across locations and provide regular updates to management.
Global Indians business intelligence and sales management:
- Set up a strong account planning process for Global Indian clients.
- Drive the delivery of strong MIS across the business with analytics and insights that are relevant to the management and in running the business.
- Daily interaction with Global Indian bankers and advisors on key deals and ensure updated feedback on progress.
- Rigorous and active management of the sales process.
- Support the Head of Sales/Distribution in India and Singapore in coaching and mentoring the teams on sales management and prospect management.
- Carry out periodic client book reviews with Global Indian Bankers on their activities, covering asset accumulation and revenue production. Following on from this, agree with the respective Head of Sales/Distribution on a clear set of objectives/actions to improve performance and follow up on agreed actions (sales campaigns etc)
- Analysis / Production of weekly/monthly MI (financials, client engagement etc) to enable management to identify areas of focus.
- Stand in for Head of Sales/Distribution (in an internal and external capacity) when required.
- Ensure the Firm resources, specifically Investment Advisors and Product specialists are being utilised effectively vis-a-vis the bankers.
- Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements.
