Responsibility:

Engagement Shaping
  • *Ensure desired outcomes for the engagement are clearly defined and well understood by all parties.
  • *Ensure outcomes are SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely).
  • *Ensure Cognizants role in achieving the desired outcomes is well understood and agreed upon by all parties.
  • *Ensure engagement themes needed to realize the desired outcomes are identified, well understood, and agreed upon by all parties.
  • *Ensure that all work taken on by PODs/teams is focused on, aligned with, and contributing to one or more of the engagement themes.
  • *Discover and analyze the currentstate client operating model for software delivery.
  • *Establish an initialstate delivery operating model for the PODs/teams is wellaligned with the client operating model.
  • *Identify risks, impacts, and proposed mitigation actions for the initial state delivery operating model in terms of possible effect on quality, efficiency, and efficacy.
  • *Rationalize the themes, desired outcomes, and expected timelines with the initialstate operating model and projected ability to continuously improve/mature the model to ensure they are realistic in the overall context.
  • *Ensure delivery execution for each POD/team conforms to an established, agreedupon, and continuously maturing operating model.
  • Engagement Management.
  • *Ensure talent is available at the right time to deliver on the engagement plan.
  • *Ensure talent that is no longer needed for the engagement is released from the project in a timely manner.
  • *Facilitate and manage weekly status cadence among team leaders.
  • *Prepare & publish regular status report and publish for internal review.
  • *Prepare & facilitate monthly status report for senior client leaders and publish for internal review.
  • *Ensure the right talent with the right skills is available at the right time and executing according to an agreedupon operating model.

  • *Ensure delivery execution for each POD/team conforms to an established and agreedupon operating model.
  • *Ensure correct tools, frameworks, patterns and best practices are utilized.
  • *Ensure Cost of Delivery targets are met.
  • *Ensure contractual & financial commitments are met.
  • *Track and guide continuous improvement of digital maturity for discovery, delivery, and engineering practices.
  • *Conduct regular reviews of product testing program to ensure conformance with best practices and enterprise standards.
  • *Anticipate risks and delivery issues to proactive address.
  • *Ensure clear transparent communication internally & with the client.
  • *Conduct regular reviews of product roadmap and demos to ensure alignment with and contribution toward one or more engagement themes.
  • *Facilitate regular reviews of product/solution architecture to ensure conformance with best practices and enterprise standards with all required parties.
  • Data Collection & Reporting.
  • *Ensure collection of execution performance data from directly managed engagement(s) and engagement(s) for which Engg Director is providing supervisory oversight.
  • *Ensure all SLA, KRA/KPI and client requirements are tracked,trended and actioned.
  • *Aggregated data from multiple engagements into consolidated reports and relay to Engg Management community leadership.
  • Cognizant Growth\Work with delivery team, account team, and GTM team to identify and present ideas and proposals to client in which Cognizant could help to improve efficiency & efficacy, gain competitive advantage, or create/unlock new/additional business value.
  • Community Leadership.
  • *contribute and lead artifacts/assets development and participate actively within community and enablement programs.
  • *contributing / facilitate/ encourage cross community interactions to drive innovations, improvements and enablement opportunities.
  • *Mentor reportees within the Engg Management community for their career path.
  • *Manage and support direct and indirect reportees in their respective Engg Management roles on engagements.
  • Community Mentorship.
  • *Guide and mentor Engg Managers & POD leaders how to analyze client operating models, recommend delivery operating models and governance programs, and conduct product roadmap reviews.
  • *Guide and mentor Engg Managers on how to engage with clients, handle escalation, and govern engagement.

  • *Engage with a mentor to continue ongoing growth.

  • *Initiate and lead community programs that focus on improving efficacy of delivery operations.
  • *Share evangelize digital engineering management &CDE projects within the community and cross the enterprise.
  • Sales Support.
  • *Provide presales support for client briefings, engagement shaping, and RFP responses.
  • Thought Leadership.
  • *Author, edit, or publish articles, whitepapers, case studies, or other artifacts that help to establish Cognizant as a thought leader and trusted expert in digital delivery.
  • *Continuous improvement mindset.

  • *How to make both the Client and Cognizant better.
