Scope and Authority
The Person provides pre- and post- sales field technical support, working closely with the Sales team. This includes developing and applying in-depth technical knowledge of battery, separator products and applications to ensure customer requirements are satisfied. He/she assists with integration of company products into customer’s applications and works to resolve issues that may arise.
This position shall have the authority to enforce time lines in order to comply with customer requirements and meet target deadlines. Shall also have the authority to raise questions as relevant.

Report to: Solid line to Business Director

Responsibilities
Safety
Understand the importance of conformance with the regard to ES&H systems and procedures
- Understand the environmental impacts associated with their work activities and the environmental benefits of improved personal performance.
- Understand the potential consequences of deviation from specified operating procedures.
- Immediately report any accidents and release to the Supervisor.
- Recognize that adhering to job responsibilities and procedures regarding environmental, health and safety is a condition of employment
- Comply with all environmental, safety, and health rules, policies, and programs established by the company to the extent of training received.

Expectations, Accountability, Communication:
Work closely with the sales team to provide root cause analysis to customers on battery failure issues
Manage, operate and maintain battery testing systems
Extract, analyze and present data from battery test equipment
Investigate and document sources of instability or inconsistency in test data
Provide technical training to customer, distributors and sales team members
Plans and conducts product technical demonstrations
Works to develop and qualify company name into customer applications.
Assists in creating sales strategies to penetrate customer accounts.
Works to influence customer product evaluation process.
Keeps customers informed about new product information.
Generates product improvement and cost take out ideas.
Works with company new product development team to help define and ensure customer requirements are being met. Provides voice of customer (VOC) feedback.
Collaborates with manufacturing, supply chain and quality to support them on product issues and changes.
Facilitate new product development initiatives with key focus on Quality, Cost and Delivery
Improving customer product designs and improving their process efficiency
Represent Daramic in battery forums / conferences on technology front to communicate Daramic’s R&D initiatives and success and also launch new products with technical data validation
Imparting training to sales team and process team on various application needs, product specification, product criticalities, failure mode and corrective measures
Understanding the customer issue technically and provide solution
Assisting technical centers of Daramic for building trail samples with prototype products as per R&D requirements, with the knowledge from experience in a leading battery manufacturing industry.
Education, languages, Experience and Know How
- B.E / B.Tech in Electrochemistry / Electrochemical technology
- 5+ years of related work experience as Market analyst / Market Research / Sales coordinator
Experience with battery technology and principles of battery testing
Successful past experience in battery testing, test protocol development, round-robin test method and result alignment between multiple labs, process baselining and change management
Demonstrated skill in design of experiments, data capture, data analysis using statistical tools, and extraction of key knowledge from analysis
Proficiency in English, Hindi required
Strong oral and written communication skills
Willing and able to travel frequently
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Strong customer oriented focus
Demonstrated ability to see the big picture and drive to it with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability to function in a matrixed, team-oriented environment
- High personal initiative, energy and drive
- Thorough knowledge of applicable electrochemical principles related battery design and performance
- Excellent problem solving skills and analytical aptitude
- Exceptional project management and team coordination skills
- Strong skills in time management and managing multiple priorities
