Job Summary:


The IT Operations and Cybersecurity Manager will oversee the organisation’s IT infrastructure, hardware management, and cybersecurity defences. This role requires a proactive approach to hardware support, inventory management, and IT policy development, with a strong focus on navigating and mitigating cybersecurity threats.


Key Responsibilities:


1) Hardware Management:

  • Supervise the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of IT hardware.
  • Ensure all hardware meets the specific needs of various departments within budgetary constraints.


2) Inventory Oversight:

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets.
  • Develop and enforce procedures for tracking and managing these assets throughout their lifecycle.


3) ISO Compliance and Implementation:

  • Drive the adoption of ISO standards relevant to information security (e.g., ISO 27001).
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with these standards through regular review and audits.


4) Cybersecurity Monitoring and Threat Management:

  • Establish systems for continuous monitoring of IT security.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate cybersecurity threats in real-time.
  • Keep abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends and threats, integrating new security technologies as needed.


5) IT Policy and Security Framework Development:

  • Craft and update IT policies and procedures, focusing on security best practices for operations such as payments, logins, and data management.
  • Educate and train staff on IT security protocols and best practices.


6) Incident Response and Recovery:

  • Lead the response to cybersecurity incidents, including containment strategies and mitigation of impacts.
  • Develop and implement recovery plans, minimising downtime and ensuring data integrity.


7) Internal IT Audit:

  • Conduct thorough IT audits to identify and rectify potential vulnerabilities.
  • Provide recommendations for enhancing systems’ security and efficiency.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications preferred (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+).
  • Extensive experience in IT operations and cybersecurity within a sensitive environment (e.g., financial, healthcare).
  • Demonstrated ability in managing and configuring enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of current IT risks and experience implementing security solutions.
  • Experience enforcing stringent IT policies and effectively handling security incidents.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members and external vendors.
  • Ability to educate and train others in IT security awareness and procedures.


Additional Notes:


  • The role requires staying on-call for addressing IT and security issues during off-hours.
