PRIMARY FUNCTION

Hold responsibility for all procurement related tasks in product portfolio and/or customer sales projects. Target is to optimize total cost, material efficiency and quality through an early involvement of the Procurement organization and 3rd party suppliers. Key levers are the utilization of standard materials, the pooling of demand on Recommended Suppliers and Strategic Partners, cost transparency, the application of advanced negotiation concepts and the supplier integration.


RESPONSIBILITY IN DETAIL

  • Manage all procurement, sourcing and supplier-focused activities in accordance with procurement strategies and regulations within product portfolio and/or customer sales projects in order to reach project targets. Manage BOM cost target and data for component lead times.
  • Act as one face of the Procurement organization to the project leader and the members of the Product Introduction Team (PIT) and actively contribute to project execution.
  • Coordinate and organize the involvement of specific Procurement functions, tasks and resources as necessary. Communicate the procurement setup and activities within the PIT.
  • Analyse the material demand within product portfolio and/or customer sales projects based on the marketing/ sales forecasts. Investigate project/ sales related information, define and consolidate the material demand with cross functions and develop a potential suppliers list in collaboration with the Category Procurement organization.
  • Setup and implement a sourcing plan, organize handover to operational Procurement (eg. plant Procurement) and control the material cost and material related additional cost.
  • Perform target cost, cost structure and value analysis on material level and/ or value add items as defined for the individual product portfolio and/or customer sales project.
  • Drive the implementation of Procurement Strategies along with material and/or supplier selection activities in product portfolio and/or customer sales projects. Ensure a feedback of technological project demand and/or market trends into the Commodity Business Strategy (CBS) of the Category Procurement organization. Drive early involvement of suppliers into the development process.
  • Prepare and perform RFI / RFQ with suppliers. Analyse the receiving data on product portfolio and/or customer sales project level and also considering the overall sourcing demand for the material. Use local Procurement resources/ Shared Services where appropriate.
  • Evaluate sourcing risks related to material availability, supply chain interruptions and supplier performance. Support or initiate risk buy activities.
  • Perform risk analysis on product portfolio and/or customer sales project level to manage potential claims and other liabilities.
  • Perform and/ or support negotiations in close alignment with the Commodity Business Management and Contract Management. Apply advance negotiation concepts like e-Sourcing events where possible.
  • Drive and perform sourcing decision tasks on the basis of TCO criteria in timely and close alignment with the Commodity Business Management organization and respect to defined processes and guidelines to secure the best material cost performance.
  • Manage product portfolio and/or customer sales project related contracting with 3rd party suppliers to ensure material supply at best conditions and avoiding any business risk for Inventronics. Gain input from customer sales agreements and requirements of involved cross functions, determine their effect on material supply and incorporate them in procurement contracts.
  • Coordinate procurement contract drafts with the Commodity Business Manager/ Plant Procurement (where appropriate) and Contract Management to assure alignment with the Commodity Business Strategy (CBS) and compliance requirements.
  • Initiate, communicate and execute supplier management activities for the qualification, selection and contracting of suppliers in close cooperation with respective cross functions in a timely manner.
  • Organize the early involvement of suppliers and secure technology alignment according to project needs. Support supplier monitoring and development by performance feedback.
  • Report the sourcing status and target achievements as procurement contribution to the project leader and the Product Introduction Team (PIT) and to the Corporate and Commodity Business Management. Manage data for all cost down measures in OMT.
  • Support complexity reduction by selecting material standards and platforms or preferred material and/or component concepts to reduce the overall costs.
  • Initiate and support market and technology scouting or benchmarking activities to realize solutions on sourcing demand along product portfolio and/or customer sales project needs.
  • Maintain intensive regular contact with internal/ external interdisciplinary partners to recognize developments (market, demand, etc.) and to exert the appropriate influence on decisions


EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor degree or above B.Tech-Electrical / Electronics/ preferably with any Commercial degree
