Job Title: VP of Construction Management
Location: Mumbai
Reports To: Global Head of Construction
POSITION SUMMARY:
Our reputed client is seeking an experienced and dynamic VP of Construction Management to oversee and lead large-scale IT building projects, commercial buildings, and data center projects across India. This executive role, reporting directly to the Global Head of Construction, is critical in driving the construction strategy and execution to ensure successful project delivery within defined timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project Management: Lead and oversee construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and budgets. Monitor progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies as necessary.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for the construction department, aligning with the organization's overall goals and objectives. Identify opportunities for growth, process improvement, and cost optimization.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of construction professionals, including project managers, engineers, architects, and contractors. Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment, promoting teamwork and individual development.
- Vendor and Contractor Management: Liaise with the supply chain to evaluate the performance of general contractors and other suppliers to ensure compliance, execution, quality, and safety standards.
- Budgeting and Financial Management: Work with project controls to report to senior management, highlighting project performance and potential risks.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure quality assurance programs are met or exceed industry standards and regulatory requirements. Monitor compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory authorities. Communicate project updates, resolve issues, and maintain positive relationships with all parties involved.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Extensive experience (20+ years) in construction management, preferably in a senior leadership role within the construction industry.
