Ovyo is proud to be partnering with them to manage this recruitment drive and hire candidates directly to the client.


About the role:

Our client is looking for a skilled Software Engineer, Full-Stack Developer to be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining full-stack software solutions to address complex business issues and interfaces in the context of the companies’ applications.


Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Create HbbTV applications compliant with industry standards (HbbTV 2.0+) and manufacturer requirements, optimizing performance and reliability across diverse devices.
  • DRM Integration: Implement and manage Digital Rights Management (DRM) solutions (e.g., Widevine, PlayReady, FairPlay, Nagra), ensuring secure content delivery and seamless collaboration with content providers.
  • System Implementation: Develop systems following Open IPTV Forum (OIPF) guidelines, including features like service discovery, metadata handling, and media streaming, aligned with HbbTV and DRM standards.
  • Collaboration and Documentation: Work closely with engineers, QA testers, and product managers to deliver high-quality solutions while documenting processes and projects for reference.
  • Testing and Maintenance: Regularly test, debug, and maintain HbbTV apps and DRM systems to ensure scalability, security, and smooth operation, staying updated with evolving standards and regulations (e.g., DVB-S, MPEG-DASH).


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in developing HbbTV applications, DRM systems, and OIPF-compliant solutions
  • Experience working with HbbTV standards (HbbTV 2.0+), and DRM technologies like Widevine, PlayReady, and FairPlay
  • Strong understanding of MPEG-DASH, DVB standards, and OIPF frameworks
  • Proficient in programming with JavaScript (ES5+), TypeScript, and NodeJS (NestJS or Express)
  • Experience with Python, relational databases (RDBMS), and NoSQL databases
  • Good knowledge of best practices for HbbTV, OIPF, and DRM systems like Nagra, PlayReady, and Widevine.
  • Familiar with OTT streaming protocols like HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) and MPEG-DASH
