Position Summary: 

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Research and Development for our Metal Working Fluids division. The successful candidate will lead our efforts in developing new products and refining existing solutions to enhance performance and sustainability. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for innovation in industrial lubricants. 


Key Responsibilities: 


1.   Lead the research and development team in the design and formulation of new metal working fluids. 

2.   Oversee the enhancement of existing product lines to improve performance, cost-efficiency, and environmental compliance. 

3.   Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, marketing, and sales, to align R&D projects with market needs and company goals.

4.   Manage the entire product development lifecycle from concept through to commercialization, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. 

5.   Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, academic institutions, and research organizations to stay at the forefront of industry trends and technologies. 

6.   Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and quality standards. 

7.   Prepare and manage the R&D budget; provide regular reports to senior management on project status and innovation initiatives.

8.   Mentor and develop team members to foster a high-performing and innovative department culture. 

 

Qualifications: - 

  1. Advanced degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. - Minimum of 10 years' experience in lubricant formulation, particularly in metal working fluids. 
  2. Proven track record of leading R&D projects and teams in a related industry. 
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  4. Excellent leadership and communication skills. - Deep understanding of the regulatory landscape affecting the lubricants industry.
