Role Overview:

We are looking for a highly motivated and strategic Retail Manager to drive sales and business expansion across Karnataka. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in FMCG retail sales, expertise in managing modern trade, general trade, and e-commerce channels, and proven leadership in team building and distributor management.

Key Responsibilities:

Retail Sales & Business Development:

Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual retail sales targets through strategic planning and execution.

Develop and implement retail expansion strategies to drive market penetration and revenue growth.

Strengthen relationships with key retail partners, distributors, and modern trade chains.

Identify new business opportunities and expand retail footprint in Karnataka.

Distributor & Channel Management:

Oversee and manage distributors, wholesalers, and key retail accounts to ensure smooth supply chain operations.

Monitor stock availability, inventory movement, and order fulfillment to meet market demand.

Collaborate with distributors to drive secondary sales and ensure efficient stock replenishment.

Negotiate and manage trade terms, pricing, and promotions with key accounts.

Retail Execution & Market Strategy:

Lead in-store merchandising, promotions, and branding initiatives to enhance product visibility.

Implement trade marketing and consumer engagement activities for increased footfall and sales.

Ensure strong market intelligence by analyzing competitor activities, market trends, and consumer behavior.

Drive effective execution of retail strategies through structured reporting and performance tracking.

Team Management & Leadership:

Lead and mentor a team of sales executives, merchandisers, and field staff to achieve business objectives.

Develop training programs to enhance product knowledge and sales skills.

Monitor performance, provide coaching and development, and ensure high team motivation.

Key Requirements:

Industry Experience:

  • Strong exposure in Karnataka with an established network in the retail sector.
  • Prior experience in FMCG retail sales (General Trade & Modern Trade) is a must.
  • Proven track record in handling distributors, key accounts, and retail teams.
  • Experience in nutrition, health food, or organic FMCG is a plus.

Educational Qualification:

  • Graduate degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 10-12 years of experience in retail sales & distribution management.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong team management and leadership abilities.
  • Expertise in retail strategy, business expansion, and key account management.
  • Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
