JOB SUMMARY


Senior Data Engineer elevated client data-driven culture by collaborating with leadership and cross-functional teams to drive accuracy, insights, and visibility by architecting, designing, engineering, and managing our data warehouse built on Domo. Leveraging your data engineering expertise, you'll lead the development of data pipelines and contribute to the design and implementation of the overall data architecture. You'll also partner with the BI/Analytics team to ensure the data is presented clearly for maximum impact. This role reports to the Chief Information Officer.


Essential Functions:

Lead the design and development of data pipelines for efficient data ingestion, transformation, and loading into the Domo data warehouse or other data warehouse platforms as we evolve.

Partner with data architects (or act as one where needed) to define data models and ensure they meet business requirements, considering scalability, performance, and long-term maintainability.

Implement and maintain data quality checks and cleansing processes to ensure data integrity, quality and consistency.

Automate data processing tasks for optimal efficiency and scalability.

Develop and maintain Domo data warehouse objects or other data warehouse platforms as we evolve (Datasets, Marts, etc.) based on architectural best practices.

Collaborate with the BI/Analytics team to develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations for effective data storytelling.

Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines for performance issues and errors.

Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in data warehousing, data architecture, and Domo or other data warehouse platforms as we evolve.

Drive the development and implementation of data governance policies, procedures, best practices and standards in accordance with regulatory requirements.

In conjunction with the BI/Analytics team, build strong relationships with stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor in leveraging data to drive value and meet evolving business needs.

Foster a data-literate culture by providing training and resources, empowering employees to effectively leverage data in their roles.

Advocate for the value of data and analytics, promoting a data-driven mindset to keep the organization competitive and agile.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

6+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture or a related field.

4+ years of proven experience with data warehousing concepts and methodologies.

In-depth knowledge of Domo platform or similar, data pipelines, and ETL tools.

4+ years of strong experience with SQL and data modeling techniques.

4+ years of experience with data governance principles and data quality practices.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively navigate complex data challenges and drive data-driven decision-making.

Ability to think strategically and align data initiatives with organizational goals, ensuring that data engineering and architecture efforts support client's overall objectives.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences, facilitating understanding and buy-in.

Deep understanding of data management principles, including data governance, quality, security, and privacy, to ensure the integrity and protection of the organization's data assets.

Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, fostering strong partnerships and driving the adoption of data-driven practices across the organization.

Ability to drive change and promote a data-driven culture throughout the organization, encouraging the adoption of data-driven practices and decision-making.

Experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions.

Experience working in an Agile development environment.

Professional services industry experience is a plus.

 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
