Role Description

This is a remote contract role for a Senior Data Engineer at Accelerant. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks associated with data engineering, including data modeling, ETL (Extract Transform Load), data warehousing, and data analytics. You will work remotely and collaborate with the team to ensure the successful implementation of data engineering projects.

Qualifications and Responsibilities

  • Experience with DBT : Demonstrable proficiency in using DBT (Data Build Tool) for transforming and modeling data in a cloud-based environment.
  • Data Engineering Skills : Strong foundation in data engineering principles and practices, including data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, data pipeline development, and data warehousing.
  • SQL Proficiency : Advanced SQL skills are essential for querying, manipulating, and optimizing data within the data warehouse environment.
  • Cloud Platform Experience : Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) particularly in deploying and managing data pipelines and services.
  • Programming Skills : Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and custom data processing tasks.
  • Collaboration and Communication : Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and collaborate on projects with data analysts, scientists, and engineers.
  • Data Quality and Governance : Understanding of data quality best practices and experience implementing data governance processes to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) : Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools for automating testing, deployment, and monitoring of data pipelines.
  • Problem-Solving Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and innovate solutions for complex data challenges.
  • Education and Certifications : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Relevant certifications in data engineering, cloud platforms, or DBT are a plus.
  • Experience with Data Visualization Tools : Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI for creating reports and dashboards is advantageous.)
