We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and optimizing our data infrastructure, enabling the organization to extract actionable insights from complex data sources.

Position Summary:

As a Senior Data Engineer at Round Circle, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing systems that form the foundation of our data-driven initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, data scientists, and analysts to ensure data availability, quality, and accessibility. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in data engineering, a deep understanding of big data technologies, and a passion for solving complex data challenges.

What we're looking for


  • Self-paced, proactive, and results-oriented person with a good sense of ownership and a successful track record, able to deal with ambiguity
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer with a strong track record of designing and building data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Hands-on experience with big data technologies and frameworks, including Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and SQL.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Experience with data governance and compliance is a plus.
  • Experience with designing for scale and data growth in terms of storage and performance
  • Very strong working knowledge of SQL (writes efficient, easy to read, and crisp SQL code), comfortable with Python, Spark or Scala
  • Experience in at least one cloud data technology (AWS, GCP, or Azure Cloud) 
  • Experience working with Redshift, Presto/Trino, Spark, Hive, Athena
  • Understanding concepts of data architectures and Data Mesh paradigm
  • Experience in designing and implementing domain-specific data pipelines, with a knack for bridging the gap between technical and business stakeholders in a fast-changing environment
