Job Description:

Business & Financials

  • Lead the entire spectrum of Pharmaceutical Technology UG & PG programs, driving their success and impact and the recruitment and admission of students.
  • Drive revenue targets based on student fees / short-term certifications / consultancy.
  • Support the sales and marketing team with webinars, training sessions, and related initiatives.
  • Leading the department in the setting and advancing of the strategic academic direction of the department and developing regular review procedures to monitor and progress the strategic plan.


Responsibilities:

  • Career Development: Foster strong industry alliances, internships, and placement opportunities for students.
  • Spearhead curriculum delivery, mentor students, and impart the skills and knowledge necessary for their professional advancement.
  • Contribute comprehensively to various aspects essential for program success.
  • Encouraging excellence in learning, teaching, research, research education and professional activities.
  • Encouraging collaboration with other departments and academic organizational units as appropriate.
  • Conduct dynamic and interactive online classes, workshops, and masterclasses, offering transformative learning experiences.
  • Innovate by designing and developing new programs in alignment with industry demands and local market dynamics.
  • Elevate the learning journey by enhancing and updating the content and curriculum of existing programs.
  • Partner with the placements team to facilitate favourable career pathways for learners.


Academic Operations:

  • Lead the entire spectrum of Pharmaceutical Technology programs, driving their success and impact.
  • Encouraging students and faculties to attain maximum attendance percentages.
  • Be the driving force for minimizing batch dropouts and class slippage / cancellations.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless program execution and enhanced learning outcomes.
  • The development, implementation and maintenance of appropriate academic, human resource, and finance and infrastructure planning and monitoring processes.
  • The development of syllabuses, structures and methods of assessment for award-bearing and other taught program.
  • Be the driving force in upping the ante of Student Satisfaction Index, pedagogy for PG students, planning semester-wise events viz. workshops, master-class, live projects and industry visits.


Institution Development:

  • The translation and communication of Statutory Compliance and strategies and policies within the department.
  • Representing the department's interests, in the context of Institution-wide strategies and directions, in internal forums as appropriate, and vice-versa.
  • Identifying, proposing and planning for changes in the department’s requirements for resource allocation or reallocation arising from changing needs and plans.
  • Leading the process of academic policy and planning for the department.
  • Maintaining and enhancing the departmental teaching quality of courses and programs.
  • Leading the department in establishing and maintaining a productive, accessible and well-regarded learning environment for students, fulfilling the Institution’s responsibilities.
  • Ensuring that the department meets the standards set by relevant professional/statutory bodies.
  • Developing and monitoring appropriate quality assurance mechanisms.


International Development:

  • Representing the department's academic interests, in the context of Institution-wide strategies and directions, to industry, government, the professions and educational communities in local and, where appropriate in international arenas.
  • Lead International Internships and Placements.


People Development:

  • Manage and inspire a team of faculties, fostering consistent growth, sourcing and integrating faculties as needed.
  • The allocation of duties to departmental staff to ensure the effective performance of the department's teaching, research, research education and service functions.
  • Encourage faculties in enrolling and completion of relevant PhD degree.
  • Ensuring 100% course content creation using the Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Create and nurture departmental skill-gap analysis and training calendar.
  • Monitoring the academic and service activities of the department, including for example, teaching and assessment practices and the quality of information provided to students.
  • Encouraging and developing appropriate and a wide range of teaching and learning styles.


Student Development:

  • Providing overall academic leadership of the department with the aim of maintaining the highest possible standards in teaching and research.
  • Supporting the promotion and strengthening of the research culture within the department and cross-departmentally where appropriate.
  • Hosting semester-wise Parent & Teacher meets through online or offline modes of interaction.
  • Adhering to the student attendance report guidelines of the institution, creating and driving individual learning plan, student council and student award programs, formation and implementation of student clubs.
  • Interfacing with the placement team and hosting annual alumni meets.
