Assistant Manager – Spice Retail Packaging Line

A) Company Description
Parvata Foods is an agritech startup located in Siliguri, founded by IIM-Ahemdabad alumni.
Our state-of-the-art organic spice processing plant and proprietary dehydration technology make us the preferred exporter of organic spices to Europe and the US. We leverage superior technology in supply chain management to provide market access and training to thousands of small organic farmers across the North East, helping them to increase their income levels and living standards.
B) Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervisor for our Spice Retail Packaging Line to manage daily packing operations and to ensure that our packaging process meets quality, hygiene, and safety standards. The candidate should have prior experience in spice retail packaging, and be well-versed in food safety and hygiene protocols. This is a full-time role for at our facility in Siliguri.
C) Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Supervision:
o Manage daily operations of the spice retail packaging line to ensure efficient workflow.
o Monitor equipment and machinery to ensure they are functioning correctly.
o Address and resolve any operational issues promptly.
o Maintain food safety and hygiene protocols
2. Inventory: Record Keeping
o Maintain accurate records of inventory, packaging materials, and finished products.
o Conduct regular stock checks and ensure timely replenishment.
o Maintain material mass balance report.
o Maintain records of production, including quantities packed, batch details, and quality checks.
3. Food Safety and Hygiene Compliance:
o Ensure adherence to all food safety and hygiene regulations throughout the packaging process, Maintain facility and equipment cleanliness and hygiene
o Enforce standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness among all labour personnel.
4. Team Leadership:
o Train, supervise, and motivate supervisors and packaging line workers.
o Assign tasks and monitor performance to maintain high levels of productivity and quality.
D) Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience: Proven experience in spice retail packaging (minimum 2-3 years preferred).
- Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and labour cleanliness requirements.
- Familiarity with packaging equipment and materials used in spice retail.
- Communication: Proficient in English, both written and verbal, for documentation and communication purposes.
