Job Description: We are seeking a highly qualified Waste Management Specialist to join our team at Samvedna Development Society. The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background in social work, extensive experience in solid waste management, and a proven track record of working on Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) projects in collaboration with Nagar Nigam (Municipal Corporation of India). The Waste Management Specialist will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and evaluating waste management programs aimed at improving the cleanliness and sanitation standards in entire Agra and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement innovative strategies for solid waste management in alignment with the goals and objectives of Samvedna Development Society.
  2. Collaborate with local authorities, community stakeholders, and other relevant partners to facilitate the effective implementation of waste management initiatives.
  3. Conduct comprehensive assessments of current waste management practices and identify areas for improvement.
  4. Design and deliver Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaigns to raise awareness about proper waste disposal, recycling, and environmental conservation.
  5. Lead and coordinate Swachh Sarvekshan (Cleanliness Survey) projects in partnership with Nagar Nigam, ensuring compliance with guidelines and standards set by the government.
  6. Provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to community members, municipal staff, and other stakeholders involved in waste management activities.
  7. Monitor and evaluate the performance of waste management projects, tracking key indicators and outcomes to assess their impact and effectiveness.
  8. Prepare and submit detailed reports, documentation, and progress updates on waste management activities, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  9. Stay informed about emerging trends, best practices, and innovations in the field of waste management, and incorporate relevant knowledge into program design and implementation.
  10. Represent Samvedna Development Society at meetings, workshops, and conferences related to waste management and sanitation, networking with peers and sharing insights and experiences.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Graduate degree in Master's in Social Work or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) related to solid waste management.
  • At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience in solid waste management and Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) projects in collaboration with Nagar Nigam (Municipal Corporation of India).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively engage and interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating initiative, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office suite and data analysis software.
