Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and qualified Special Educator with a background in psychology or social work to join our team at Sense Kaleidoscopes. The Special Educator will play a vital role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of children with autism, using evidence-based practices and individualized strategies to promote learning, growth, and independence.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with autism, using a variety of instructional methods and techniques tailored to their unique needs and learning styles.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with autism, in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary team, including therapists, teachers, and parents.
- Utilize techniques of play and experiential learning to engage students with autism in meaningful and enjoyable educational activities, fostering social interaction, communication, and sensory integration.
- Conduct ongoing assessment and evaluation of student progress, using data-driven methods and tools to monitor growth, identify areas of need, and adjust instructional strategies as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of student performance and progress, including daily tracking of goals, objectives, and behavioral observations, to inform instructional planning and decision-making.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to support the holistic development of students with autism, providing guidance, resources, and training as needed to enhance learning and communication skills at home and in the community.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities to share information, exchange ideas, and stay current on best practices and emerging trends in autism education and special education.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment for all students, promoting a culture of respect, acceptance, and diversity within the school community.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field required.
- Previous experience working with children with autism or other developmental disabilities, preferably in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices and interventions for autism education, including applied behavior analysis (ABA), sensory integration, and communication strategies.
- Proficiency in using technology for data collection, progress monitoring, and instructional support preferred. Experience with smart board technology, Microsoft Office suite, and cloud-based platforms for content creation and lesson planning is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues and collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with autism and supporting their educational and social-emotional growth.
- Flexibility, creativity, and adaptability in designing and implementing individualized education plans and instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students with autism.
- Proficiency in using technology for data collection, progress monitoring, and instructional support preferred.
Salary: Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience. Beginning from 25000/- per month.
