This job opportunity closely aligns with one of these key strategic pillars, which is driving Strengthening & Accelerating our Core Business, Creating a Future-Ready Organization. The incumbent will support India General Counsel on legal matters, supporting the business on a day to day requirements, and critical matters including litigation, regulatory actions, contract management, complex and high value real estate transactions being undertaken by TCPL and its subsidiary and associates and assist on legal matters.
What are the Key Deliverables in this role?
Financial Outcomes
Litigation Management: Having adeptly managed legal proceedings to mitigate potential financial losses by devising strategies for swift and cost-effective resolution of litigations, thereby reducing legal expenses and potential penalties. Additionally, have experience in handling food law and land matters.
Regulatory Compliance: Monitoring regulatory changes and delivering timely updates to internal stakeholders to facilitate proactive measures and mitigate the risk of non-compliance penalties that could affect the company's financial stability.
Contractual Risk Mitigation: Ensuring thorough drafting and careful vetting of contracts to mitigate financial risks and liabilities, thus safeguarding the company's financial interests against potential legal issues or disputes arising from agreements.
Risk Avoidance and Legal Advisory: Offering precise legal counsel and analysis to management, aiding in informed decision-making that minimizes financial risks and ensures the company's compliance with legal requirements.
Statutory Compliance Management: Guaranteeing compliance through the utilization of web-based tools and educating internal stakeholders, thereby reducing the risk of penalties, fines, or legal actions stemming from non-compliance and averting financial losses.
Customer Service
Collaboration and coordination: To collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, advocates, and other pertinent departments to ensure a unified approach in addressing matters. Additionally, to engage with external advisors, including advocates, regulatory experts, agencies, and consultants, to acquire comprehensive guidance and support.
Internal Processes
Legal documents: Reviewing and negotiating various legal documents, due diligence, and other such paperwork, independently or along with external advisors.
Due diligence: To assist in conducting thorough due diligence investigations. This will mostly involve working along with external advisors.
Trademark Management: Efficiently handling trademark-related tasks such as searches, registrations, renewals, oppositions, etc.
Regulatory Updates & Compliance: Keeping track of regulatory changes and timely dissemination of updates to internal stakeholders ensures proactive compliance management, streamlining internal processes related to regulatory adherence and potential operational changes.
Innovation and Learning
Continuous Learning and Legal Innovation: Actively staying updated with legal trends, precedents, and changes in regulations to enhance legal strategies and approaches.
Process Enhancement and Streamlining: Implementing innovative methodologies or systems to streamline legal processes, potentially increasing productivity and accuracy.
What are the Critical success factors for the Role?
Qualified LLB from reputed Law College
Food / FMCG Industry experience of 8-12 years
Good knowledge of Litigation and proficiency in drafting and vetting of agreements.
In depth knowledge on Food laws (FSSAI, Legal Metrology, advertisement regulation).
Knowledge in licensing requirement under FSSAI and allied regulations
What are the Desirable success factors for the Role?
Knowledge on Property due diligence and licensing requirement
Knowledge of environment laws in particular Plastic Waste Management
IPR knowledge (Trademark and Copyright)
