  • To prepare quotes in all major non motor lines as per underwriting appetite & guidelines of MHDI Risk analysis, claims & burning cost analysis on case to case basis to maintain profitability.
  • Closely work with risk engineer to ascertain risk features to decide on quote.
  • To analyze & decide on limits of risk acceptance as per RI treaty limits, exclusions and stipulations.
  • Co ordination for FAC support with intermediary & re insurance team.
  • To follow risk approval process strictly in accordance with underwriting guidelines of MHDI.
  • To undertake MHDI product training for marketing/ intermediaries/agents Co ordination with operations and IT team for product development/systemization as required.
  • MIS tracking & analysis in respective area & implementing necessary checking/controlling measures in respective area to maintain desired profitability.
  • To support marketing team in sourcing target business through joint meeting with brokers and intermediaries.


Underwriter need to drive business in preferred segments to ensure profitable growth in line with underwriting risk appetite. He has to weed out the adverse risks from the books to ensure heathy portfolio mix.


Qualifications And Experience:

  • Graduate in any discipline ( engineering graduate preferred) with 8 years experience in relevant field. Added qualification in insurance from AIII is preferred.
  • MBA in insurance with 10+relevant experience in non motor / commercial underwriting.
