Job Description

Inventiva, a leading news media company, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Operations Manager to oversee our media operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in media management, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a passion for journalism. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Operational Oversight:
  • Manage daily operations of the news team, ensuring seamless workflow and adherence to editorial standards.
  • Coordinate with various departments (editorial, marketing, and production) to optimize processes and enhance efficiency.
  1. Team Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing team of journalists and media professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative and creative environment that encourages innovation and growth.
  1. Strategic Planning:
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to achieve company goals and enhance media output.
  • Analyze performance metrics and report on operational efficiencies and challenges.
  1. Content Management:
  • Oversee content planning, scheduling, and quality control to ensure timely and accurate news coverage.
  • Ensure all content aligns with company standards and values.
  1. Communication:
  • Maintain effective communication with all team members and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present operational reports to senior management.
  1. Documentation and Compliance:
  • Maintain detailed records of operations, processes, and team performance.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  1. Problem-Solving:
  • Proactively identify challenges within operations and develop solutions to enhance workflow.
Job Profile

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Media Management or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism.
  • Minimum of 2 years of managerial experience in a news media or journalism company.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Fast and accurate typing skills.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and organizational skills.
  • Highly documented and planned approach to work.
  • Well-organized with a confident and strong personality.
  • Self-starter with a go-getter attitude.

Work Environment:

  • Full-time, in-office role with no hybrid or remote work options.
  • Ability to adapt to a small setup and contribute to a dynamic team culture.
Daily Tasks List
  1. Morning Briefing:
  • Conduct a morning team briefing to discuss daily goals, assignments, and updates.
  1. Content Review:
  • Review and approve news articles, ensuring accuracy and alignment with editorial standards.
  1. Team Management:
  • Provide guidance and support to team members on ongoing projects.
  • Conduct one-on-one check-ins with team members to address any concerns or provide feedback.
  1. Operational Planning:
  • Develop daily and weekly operational plans to meet content production deadlines.
  1. Communication Management:
  • Respond to internal and external communications promptly.
  • Facilitate interdepartmental meetings to ensure smooth operations.
  1. Performance Monitoring:
  • Monitor team performance metrics and provide coaching or adjustments as necessary.
  1. Documentation:
  • Maintain and update operational documentation and records.
  1. End-of-Day Review:
  • Conduct an end-of-day review of progress made on daily goals and plan for the next day.
