The HR & Admin Manager / Executive will oversee the administrative and human resources functions for a Design & Engineering company based in Chennai. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with all local, state, and national statutory requirements, fostering a productive and positive work environment, and supporting the company’s growth and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Human Resources Management:
Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and initiatives aligned with the business strategy.
Manage the recruitment and selection process to attract and retain top talent.
Oversee employee onboarding, training, and development programs.
Manage performance appraisal systems and develop programs to enhance employee engagement and productivity.
Handle employee grievances, disciplinary actions, and ensure a harmonious workplace environment.
Ensure compliance with labor laws, employment standards, and company policies.
2. Administrative Management:
Manage all administrative functions, including office management, facilities, and vendor management.
Oversee the maintenance of office infrastructure, equipment, and supplies.
Coordinate and manage corporate events, meetings, and other organizational activities.
Manage travel arrangements, accommodations, and logistics for employees and guests.
3. Compliance and Statutory Requirements:
Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and statutory requirements of India and the Tamil Nadu State Government.
Oversee and manage the entire process of statutory registrations, renewals, and filings such as PF, ESI, Gratuity, Shops & Establishment Act, Contract Labor Act, etc.
Liaise with government authorities and regulatory bodies for compliance and maintain necessary records and documents.
4. Policy Development and Implementation:
Develop, update, and implement company policies and procedures in line with statutory and organizational requirements.
Conduct periodic audits and assessments to ensure all practices comply with legal standards.
5. Payroll Management:
Oversee payroll processing, salary disbursement, and related activities.
Manage employee benefits, compensation, and incentives in compliance with statutory requirements.
6. Reporting and Analytics:
Prepare and present regular reports on HR metrics such as employee turnover, absenteeism, and recruitment effectiveness.
Utilize data analytics to support strategic decision-making and workforce planning.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in HR and Administration, preferably within the Design & Engineering industry.
In-depth knowledge of labor laws, statutory compliance, and regulatory requirements of India and Tamil Nadu.
Proven experience in HR management, employee relations, and talent acquisition.
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
